Jazz DV179 Instruction Manual???

I received a Jazz DV179 Digital Camcorder/Camera for Christmas and it did not include the instruction manual that was listed as being included in the contents list. Everything else was in the box but the manual. I have figured out how to take pictures and record videos but I have no idea how to get any further. I am afraid I will delete something that I would like to keep. Can anyone help me out??? Please and Thank you!

    I was wrong in saying that the instruction manual was the only thing I was missing. The CD was also missing.

    i have lost the cd to program my computer with the camera and i can't find a web page to download - any ideas on how to get this to work with the computer?

I got the identical camcorder; it's a Toshiba 'Camileo' resold in N.A. as Jazz DV179.
The company is at:
Jazz Products LLC Repair Centre
110 Ethel Rd. W. Unit 2
Discataway N.J. 08854 USA

I have a manual but my CD is busted! ... haven't yet contacted them for the CD. I will publish a torrent with the CD when/if I get it. If anyone with this camera & the CD would publish a torrent ith it on pirate Bay or something , I'm sure me and others would appreciate.

I have a DV179 Jazz video & picture camera and I lent it to my son and he lost the book for it and I don't know anything about it so I was woundering if i could get a instruction book I got this for...
This might not be the exact manual for your camera but it is pretty close, and should have most of the same features.. I have looked high and low for these, cause there are a lot of people needing manuals.

Sorry but it was the closest I could find.

Generic Jazz Camera Manual

Jazz 178 & 188 under their Insignia brand

I really hope this helps you. Also the software that comes on the cd with these cameras is made by Arcsoft. Media Impressions, and Media Converter. I am still looking for a link to the software for folks needing it.

My Jazz Dv179 Digital Camcorder Won't recharge
The battery in the camera is likely not a rechargable one. Check the print on the battery. Mine was not so I assume your is not as well. The maker of the camera was pretty cheap not supplying a rechargable battery, for the price they ask for the camera.

How do you use a Jazz DV179 as a webcam?
Once your camera is hooked up to your PC select Record/Play mode on the back of your Jazz. Then pull up the program you wish to use with your web cam and follow the instuctions to set up audio/video. The information can be found on pge 10 of your Jazz user manual uder 3.4.2 PC Camera Mode.

Jazz DV179 - Poor video Quality when filming at night.
  • If you can manually change the sensitivity ie iso you will get better images in low light. My digital camera on auto is not good in low light but I do the above and get satisfactory images.good luck...jw
