With DVD player on, and on appropriate channel to play normally, open tray, then close tray with no dvd inserted. Hold the stop button down for 5 full seconds. The CyberHome screen should appear. You should be able to use your player now.

I have no signal with the video component (Y, Pb and Pr)

You may have to set-up the DVD player for component (Y,Pb,Pr) output instead of S-video. You may have to set DVD player to progressive-scan or 720p or 1080 video out, also.

Turned progressive scan on, can i turn it off without being able

Try these methods for resetting the scan on your dvd."To reset the VIDEO OUTPUT, turn Off the player, turn back On, open the disc tray and press and hold the Stop button on the player for 10 seconds to reset the scan mode." The Reset procedure doesn't seem to work on all versions but you can sometimes get a usable B&W picture allowing you to get to the menu and change the settings by connecting the composite video input of your display to the Red Pr/Cr or Green Y component output jacks on the rear of the cabinet.
You can also go into the Menu and set it blind with the following key presses on the Remote:
1. With the unit Stopped, press Setup.
2. Press Enter.
3. Press the Down Arrow 3 times.
4. Press the Right Arrow Once.
5. Press Enter. Hope this helps you with your problem

How to reset dvd recorder to ntsc from pal

After checking today to see no one offered any suggestions - I solved the problem the hard way - I went into settings and although the screen rolled, I was finally able to click onto the ntsc setting after about a half hour of tries and once I clicked it, my screen returned to normal -- i was then able to enter the code that made the player an all region player and was happily able to play a pal dvd I received recently. The procedure was simple -- offered by a European Cyberhome user -- the company is in bankruptcy so you cannot gt help from them. Note - my Cyberhome dvr is 1500- not 1600 as you listed it.

HDTV Antenna

Most brands of the HD antennas are good. Use a powered one if possible. For the Cyberhome device, you have to watch them. If purcahsed at Radio Shack or any other retailer, see the website for them. It would be a good bet a Google search for the model will lead you to it. Cyberhome equipment does not have a good reputation for longevity.
