check for the power supply is locater at the back of the tv..you need to open the cover.the output power of the the power supply is 5vdc for the cpu and 12v-24dc for the backlights..visually inspect the components of the power supply.replace any burned capacitors and resistors..replace the secondary fuse with the same ratings..

Mostly likely, it is your power supply. Is it getting hot? Most of them have a thermal protection circuit which will shut them off when they get too hot. You can order a new one off Ebay for about $20 -$40 depending on what voltage and current you need.
The inverter card drives your cold cathode lighting. If you pull the covers you will find all the lights out, if any of the eight legs of the inverter go out (driver transistor) the card will not work.
