I have a similar problem on my wife's Bernina Minimatic which keeps on running when it is plugged it in. My electronics knowledge is not too bad but I'm not an expert; I already tried to disconnect the capacitor (with the 4 wires) located at the motor, but it is still doing the same. So I think the problem is maybe also within the pedal. It is continiously running at the low speed and when you push the pedal it runs faster. When you release the pedal it is returning to the low speed again. But it keeps on running. In the pedal there is a only a few electronical components 2 x capacitors, diodes, resistors and one transistor and the circuit seems quite simple. Do wou think it will be the same situation?

The best way to make sure it is your foot control. Disconnect the foot control and see if your machine still runs. I'm not sure if you have a micro switch in that FC. Sometimes they get stuck and need some Q20 release oil. Could still be your capacitor on the foot control else you can set the pod lower.

Else you can fit a standard foot control if you only have two wires running into your FC. The once with 3 wires can also be fitted to a standard FC. You have to remove the correct wire.

Please take care doing electrical work and consult electrician if need be.

Hope that helps and i'll try give you some more advice

How do I diagnosis a problem with my foot pedal on a euro 9120. It appears the machine is not seeing it??

You have to remove it and test the connections with a multimeter. Sometimes they just need cleaning inside. The graphic seems to be telling you it thinks the foot pedal is partially depressed and won't let you use it. Turn the machine off and pull the upper part of the foot pedal upwards. Then reconnect.

My vintage Bernina won’t stop sewing at full speed - even when it is disconnected from the foot pedal! How can I fix this?

Traditionally, an electric sewing machine is driven by a brush-type AC motor via a foot-operated rheostat.

When the rheostat is disconnected the circuit to the motor is broken and no current should be reaching the motor. Obviously your motor is receiving current and this can only be caused by a wiring fault, probably behind the foot pedal connector...

The foot pedal gets hot after a few minutes

It sounds as though the foot pedal is the problem. Maybe a shorted out wire in the actuator (rheostat). When your foot is off the pedal there should be no power running through it. If it has a short then it "thinks" the pedal is partially depressed to the slow position so runs at that speed. If the pedal can be removed/unplugged from the machine, do this and see if the machine stops running.

sounds like there is a short in the wiring somewhere and the

My grandmother recently gave me her industrial singer 49 d200ga machine, and i love it because it works fine. However, when I brought it home, the foot pedal stopped working properly. How can i get it

Is your industrial machine one that has a big motor mounted under the table? If so make sure the power cored is plugged in. Also if your pedal is not installed properly it will sometimes flip forward get bound up and won't allow the proper throw to run the motor. Since the pedal doesn't supply power check the linkage to the motor.

Power won't stop Husqvarna/Viking 6020 sewing machine

grant514 Has pretty much hit the nail on the head but the RF suppressor is located in the motor housing, not the foot pedal. It bridged the terminals where the foot pedal connects. Removing this capacitor resolved the same issue in my machine and given the absence of radio receiving equipment in my home now I have had no ill effects.

When pressing the foot control the machine won't run, it shows the presser foot blinking on the screen even when the presser foot lever is down.

check the connections, if they are good, your foot pedal has a short in it, so its not completing the circuit when depressed
