My bizhub c250 is printing smudged copies. It seems to have print a lite image from a previous copy. Im left with a streak along the top of what Im trying to print out. Any suggestions? The smudge is...

Hi Mike13660,

Usually the fault you are describing is caused by the fuser section being left in envelope mode.
Open the right hand side door, then lift the grey fuser cover up. Look at the levers on the fuser unit, make sure they aren't pointing at the envelope symbol. If they are, push them upwards. then close everything and try again.

Brother MFC8660dn, all copies are smudged, bought new toner and still doing this, what can I do to fix this

If they are smudged and the toner is set when the print comes out, there is something catching on the paper before the heated roller. If the toner smudges after the print comes out there is a fault with the heater and it is not setting the toner.

The image is smudged only on black. We have cleaned it as best we can using the manual instructions but we still have smudgey copies.

Sounds like you need a new black drum. If the smudge looks the same each time, you may have something on the drum that can be cleaned off, such as adhesive from a label. If that's the case, you can sometimes get away with cleaning the drum with a soft cloth and rubbing alcohol if necessary. Alcohol will leave a void spot for few copies, but will eventually go away unless the drum is really old, then it may not.

Ink smudges on the right side of the paper

Hi,

Your problem is due to a worn fuser unit (upper fuser roller).

The teflon coating has worn again, alowing the toner to stick to the roller and then "repeat" about 3x down the paper (getting fainter each time).

You need to order a new fuser unit.

Make sure you order the currect voltage (US or UK)

Smudge on the paper

When you say smudges, do you mean toner spot or blobs of toner on you pages? If you get random blobs of toner... You need to take out the drum unit & remove the primary charge unit & remove the drum & vac. out a small little grove that seats right below the developer mag roller... It is most likely filled with toner and is dropping on to you paper as copies are being made. Good Luck

Lines or smudges How do I fix?

Yes the image drum is the most likely cause, but it is unlikely you will be able to see the defect on it. Replace it
