Sunbeam Oskar Jr. Chopper Mini Food Processor Model 4816-81. How do you take apart Sunbeam Oskar 4816-8 unit and replace loose spring? 2. Where is oil leaking from it?

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved from Sunbeam Cars

There are no instructions on disassembly because it is so old. There will be screws underneath. Oil will be grease that is degrading.

Sunbeam Legacy Mixmaster Stand Mixer - I don't see in the online manual how to remove the bowl turntable for cleaning. Can anyone help?

Look for a screw underneath it. It may be hidden underneath a sticker. Rub your finger over it to feel for a depression.

How do I tighten the speed control dial on a vintage Sunbeam Mixmaster PowerPlus?

There is a cover plate over the screw that you need to tighten. This cover plate is held in place by two spring latches, 180 degrees apart. Use a small flat-tip screwdriver to depress first one latch, then the other. Don't use too much force - the latches are plastic and will break if treated roughly.

How to disassemble a sunbeam 2370 mixer

To disassemble a sunbeam mixmaster 2370, find four plastic snappers arranged at 1, 5, 7 and 11 o'clock around the front circle of vents. They can be seen with the help of a good flashlight. un-snap them and the top and bottom shells will separate. From there on, it is clips and screws. Good luck!

Sunbeam Mixmaster Heritage model Tilt mechanism failed. I got the bowl out and the beaters but can I fix the tilt mechanism?

Theory: Its a screw at the joint that is lose.
Problem: If I held mine upside down it released but wouldn't when right side up.
Partial solution (in progress): It took me an hour to disassemble the monster as I lost the "NUT" inside the motor - the nut is inside the motor case and attaches the lock-lever and a ground wire to the motor case. It makes some sense since it is a part that can strip out if it has to be tightened too many times by a gorilla - a nut is "easy" (relatively) to replace. Prevents you from having to buy a new one at least. Wish they would engineer this better.
Current status: I finally fished it out but have to put it back together now to prove my theory. You cant get into the motor case easily - but I found out that you don't have to get into the motor case if the screw is still semi-attached. I only had to undo the the base to get to the hinge. Then I could tighten the screw. I am an AMATURE - so at your won risk. They make these things so you need to send them in. This most likely seems to be what I have to do now.

I have the Sunbeam portable mixer 2486. I was making Parker house rolls with the dough hooks. After blending the dough, the mixer just stopped. The motor will no longer be turned on or off. I want to...

Hi Janis.

You have likely burnt the motor. That is the most common fault when the mixer is used for a prolonged time on a compact dough.

The best thing to do is ringing Sunbeam at the number listed on the owners manual, and checking what conditions for repair are offered.

If you have misplaced the manual, then track the number using Sunbeam website: Sunbeam.

Have one that does not work and want to know how to open it- can see no clear idea how to and want to avoid damage. regards, Peter

The mixer is not designed to be disassembled or serviced. When it breaks (and it will) Sunbeam will replace it under warranty if you are lucky or you toss it in the trash.

That said, start by prying out the beater release button. There are two small screws under it and one between the beater inserts to remove the chrome front cover. The large black dial at the rear can be pulled straight off, revealing more screws. The motor and drive assembly in the top cannot be removed without disconnecting wiring from the circuit board in the base.

Sunbeam hand mixer. One beater not working

That spring does not turn the beaters. It is part of the beater release assembly. Probably one of the gears is worn.
