Mitsubishi HS-412UR - Audio - Right Channel Not Working Properly

Hello:

I have this Mitsubishi HS 421UR that has the following problem with its right audio channel.

When the machine is turned on and a tape is played, both channels work. The LEDs show sound signals on both channels. But after the machine is on for approximately 1 minute, the right channel suddenly stopped working. There is no sound coming from the right channel.

The same problem happens to the machine's tuner. During the first minute after being turned on, both channels work. Then, the right channel stopped working after around 1 minute.

Turning off the machine and leaving it off for approximately 1/2 hour, then turning it back on, I get the same problem. Both channels work for about 1 minute then the right channel dies.

What could be the cause for this problem? And how can I fix it?

Thanks.

One of the strangest things that has happened to both the consumer and the technical field has been the use of a flexible adhesive on many of these machines' circuit boards. The glue in question is vanilla-colored, and has a tendency to react to electricity by inducing capacitance, resistance, and in some cases, even causing inductance issues. The fix, of course, is to remove as much of this material as possible, and following right behind with a nylon-based retainer. Then, if the problem persists, a followup with tried and true technical procedures...accordianman

Can we tape digital feed on a VCR and play it on an HD-ready tv?

You should be able to accomplish this. Run the antenna to your converter box. Run the video and audio outputs of the digital converter box to the inputs on your vcr. Your vcr should then be able to record the program (select line-in as the channel when setting up the recording). Hook your vcr audio and video output to your tv.
It's best to use a converter box that has an event timer - this allows the converter box to turn on at a specified time and channel. Otherwise you will need to manually set the channel you wish to record on the converterbox, and leave it turned on.
