Laptop with Windows XP died. New laptop is running Windows 7. When installing CE-250 software get this error: Cannot run an x86 build on this utility on x64 platform. Does this mean the software is not compatible with Windows 7? If so, when will update be available?
I just bought a new Futura CE250 & had the same problem.
I fixed my "can not run an x86 build of this utility on x64 platform" by visiting the futura support website & downloading a service update. I have a computer with Windows 7 installed.
The website is www.futura-support.com
When you are there, click on the link on the left for "Service Updates."
The actual link to where I downloaded my udate is: http://www.futura-support.com/downloads/ce150.html
Happy Embroidering!!!
Vista does have a compatibility service for sotware that was made to run on pre x64 bit computer processors.
Microsoft Vista compatibility help center page.
Use this link for the details.
Instructions:
Run the Program Compatibility Wizard
If you cannot install a program, insert the installation disc for the program and, using the wizard, browse to the program's setup file, usually called Setup.exe, Install.exe, or something similar. The wizard is not designed to work on programs that have an .msi file name extension.
To change compatibility settings manually for a program, right-click the icon for the program, click Properties, and then click the Compatibility tab.
Hope this helps.
