Hp c6380 scanner issues

I have a hp photosmart c6380 All-in-One printer and the scanner will no longer connect to my computer as it did before. I am still able to photocopy using the printer, but it won't scan to the computer, to a memory card or a USB stick (when plugged into the printer itself).
Help please!

Option 1:
1. Go to Add/Remove Programs in your control panel and verify if you have HP Imaging Device Functions installed
If there is, please uninstall or remove it and try to reinstall again by running the installation cd. Click on Install more software and choose HP Imaging device functions.

Option 2:
1. Insert the installation cd (Just click on Exit on the Installation screen)
2. Open your My Computer icon, right click on the DVD-CD drive and click on open (to browse through the contents of the installation disc)
3. open the setup folder
4. open scan folder
5. right click on the scan.msi (Microsoft Installation Package) and click on repair
6. do the same thing to aio_scan and bpdscan folders inside the setup folder (if you have these folders or any folder that obviously refers to scanning)

Option 3:
1. Create a new user account
2. Uninstall HP Imaging Device Functions in your add remove programs list
3. login into the new user account you created and run the installation cd from there
4. install more software and then choose hp imaging device functions.
5. try to see if you can scan from there, if you can then just log-off from that account and try to see if you can scan from the original user account
6. if you can scan from the original user account, then you can go ahead and delete the user account you just created

Hope these help.

I downloaded the driver that is supposed to work for my windows 7 computer, but it does not recognize that a scanner exists.

Good Day Imberi!

You have to browse the software driver that you downloaded and look for scanner driver. Run the installation again.
If the software driver is not complete, you can download here: You must select first the operating system and look below the drivers.

First of all, the HP C6380 must be connected locally from the PC that you are using. You can then use the scan option from your printer or scan option from the control panel of your system.

Let me know if you want me to help you further.

Photo black ink runs out b4 black on HP Photosmart C6380 printer

The black ink cartridge is larger than the photo black cartridge and black is used in photos to make the darker colors. Black text takes much less ink per page.

HP Photosmart c6380 LCD screen won't stay up

We're having the same lcd display issues you describe. Right out of the box and the lcd won't stay up on it's own. I noticed on the back on the display on the left side is a curve piece with teeth on it which "should" be part of the mechanism that holds the lcd in place however it does not feel like it is connected to anything. We're looking for any possible options to fix it so we don't have to return the printer for such a minor design flaw.

Problem for HP Photosmart C6380 All-In-One InkJet Printer HP Photosmart C6380 Ink system failure 0xc19a0023 What do I do?

It's probably telling you it is out of ink.
The ink system can fail if the cartridges in the product are installed incorrectly, if the ink in the cartridge is low or out, or if the cartridges are damaged or not correctly vented.

Here's the HP page that details the solutions for this problem:
