I've had the phone for about a month and the other day I went to my friends house and I set in a chair with my shirt over it while we got in the hot tub and when I got out my shirt was a little damp, but it didn't seem to have any problems. After I got home the clear button started to flash a little bit, but it seemed insignificant. I charged it that night and when I woke up the screen was black and it wouldnt turn on. But 2 days later it turned back on again, and then another 2 days later it turned off again and hasn't worked since.
That was really long but if you have any suggestions at all, fill me in, i'll try anything at this point. I don't think it got wet, but i'm not 100% sure.
Trust me its either:
The Flex cable Connection to the Main PCB is loose. or
The Flec Cable is damage, exposed pattern.
This is the weakness of the LG VX8500 due to sliding movement.
The Flex Cable that connects the LCD (Upper Assembly) to the Lower Assembly (Main PCB & Keypad) is in constant vibration & Friction with the Housing.
Unscrew the Back Cover (4 screws) then pry open the side to remove the back cover. Take it off, but make sure not to damage the ringer connector inside. You will see the PCB Flexible and its connection to Main PCB, remove the tapes and reattach the connection. Makesure to re-fasten the tape so it wont loosen again. Return the connection of Ringer to Main PCB make sure not to damage the Gasket on the Cavity of the Back cover. Then Put the cover back this is the hardest part. Re screw and thats it.
