Turn off the printer, hold down these buttons for 5-10 seconds (Power, Maintenance, and Stop). The printer should cycle itself back on and go through the reset process.

Epson Stylus Photo R300 My printer has stop

Hi,

I apologize for a delayed response as i was not at my desk.

I am sorry to hear regarding the problem.Unfortunately, this is a common problem on this printer. There is only one reset procedure that might work. Press and hold the ' Stop ', 'Maintenance ' and ' Power ' buttons for about 10 seconds. Then turn the printer off, and back on.

Note - You still need to get the ink absorber changed.

The repair is not economical as Epson would charge anywhere between $100 - $300 for repair. You could look for the below procedure to DIY :

http://forums.steves-digicams.com/photo-inkjet/50071-epson-r200-210-r300-310-mod.html

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Error Service required

Epson programmed their printer to monitor the waste ink counter andyour printer has reached the maximum value allowed, you have to resetyour printer to clear the waste ink counter.

You may read the information regarding "end of life" and "waste ink counter" here: http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/InkPadsForm.jsp

To reset the counter, download re-setter program here, install and follow the instruction in the web site.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

Epson Stylus Photo R300 has error message, "Service required. Parts inside your printer are at the end of their service life. See your Printers documentation for details" Can't find correct document. One...

You actually need to change the ink absorber.

Heres a video on how its done on the R800.

Please refer to your manual for proper localization of the ink absorber.

Doing this will get you to move on

Error - printer part are at the end of service life, see printing

I have had a R300 for a while now and had a few cartridges in it. Recently a message came up on the screen 'parts inside your printer are at the end of their life' and the printer refused to work!
After searching the web it appears to be a waste ink counter, but I could not find any info on resetting it.
So I tried pressing different combinations of buttons on the printer and success.

Press and hold 'stop' 'maintenance' and 'power' buttons for about 10 seconds, a message will come on the screen saying counter is reset and to turn off.

Thats it turned my printer back on and all works fine again.

I hope this helps R300 owners out!

Service life has ended on my epson stylus r320 photo printer

Thanks for your selflessness Steve H. describing the RESET procedure for the Epson R300 by simutaneouly depressing the POWER, STOP and MAINTENANCE switches.

I checked with Epson, via telephone, and they recommended going to an authorized dealer for ink pad replacement (approximately $100) or buy a new printer ( $150 - $250).

After completing your suggested RESET procedure successfully - I went a step further and mopped up the excess ink that was evident on the 'black ink pad' which was saturated with black ink. I used Kleenex which seemed to mop up the excess BLACK ink nicely, and continued this mopping procedure until there was no evidence of black ink on the Kleenex. There was very little evidence of spilled ink on the color pads.

Time alone will tell. So thanks again Steve - you saved me $100 to $200.

Oh yeah! I LOVE this printer.

Printer stopped printing. Error message

Thjis is indication the Waste in collector pades need changing eventually.- but no now. you have plenty of warning
Reset Epson R300/200
press three buttons to reset the counters
The buttons are "STOP" "Maintenance" and "POWER"
or down load the epson utility www.ssclg.com and use the reset counter feature

The printer will sound like its going to blow up, but thats normal.

You can do this about 5 times before your printer starts to piss out ink over the table because the Waste Ink Ink Pad is full

To avoid eventual flooding go to rear of the machine- remove the little door and rake around for a small plastic pipe buried under some padding under the left side.
Fix to this a thin piece of ploythene tube[Fish tank air supply], extend it to our side the machine and place in a suitable container to collect the waste ink..
