I have a Jensen CH6001 CD changer that I bought new about 7 years ago but have never used it. I finally decided to put it in my truck and discovered that I have lost the cable that goes from the changer to the receiver. Audiovox tech support says that the changer is obsolete and they no longer stock parts for it. Any ideas where I can get this cable?

Go to this link and click "find a manual"; http://www.audiovox.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=10001&productId=13670&langId=-1 It is not for your model exactly, is for a rf10ch, but look on page 12 it shows the standard cable for this sort of unit - it looks like a 15 ft standard din 8-pin (7/1/315) connector. The cable should be well shielded. With this information any electrical shop should be able to make one up. or contact these guys - they have taken over customer service from jensen, but i am unsure how good they are - please post back if you have any feedback on this. Hope this helps :)

It might be the lasers wattage has decreased due to the aging of components. did you use a lens cleaner? if not try that then assume that the lens power has decreased. If this is the case take the unit to a shop and have it repaired.

Buzzing is usally AC line noise leaking into an un-shielded cable somewhere or a floating ground. If the AC plug is reversible, try that. Sometimes the buzz is from an attached device. Make sure all audio cables are plugged in tightly at each end and routed away from or at right angles to any power cords and away from other sources of strong magnetic fields like TV's. I've also seen variable track lights induce noise but it's usually minor.
Consider the presence of light dimmers, too. Mine induce buzz when the lights are on.
