Like it says, you need better internet connection for better quality voice messages. just use text to instant message.
point your antenna's towards each other, or you can try building a paraolic wifi antenna booster out of paper and foil to turn it into a directional antenna.http://www.instructables.com/id/DIY-WIFI...
Any metal objects such as a filing cabinet will cause interference of wireless signals because they run on radio bandwidth.

Probably out of your control, if you have a strong internet connection.
I often get this message chatting to contacts in Asia Pacific in rural areas.
It can make voice calls a bit hit and miss and the script can be a bit jumpy.
Making the setting via 'Proxy' can be succesful in some situations.

You should remember, this is a fee service, so the quality is going to eb a little poor. Some of the things to increase, would be to eliminate all other softwares from running that would use the wifi or network connection. And have the person on the other end do the same. Of all the IM pc to pc chat/talk programs, Yahoo, seems to have the worst quality. if it is for voice only, I might suggest Gtalk, it seems to have the quality consistantly.

You may hear drop outs or poor sound quality in this call. Your Internet connection currently has reliability problems, perhaps due to a weak WiFi signal

Hello,
This is a message that yahoo messenger usually tell the users when it detects a low internet connection. You are right with what you have mentioned about the weak wi-fi signal.
I have been receiving the same message because of my wi-fi signal but so far so good. I never have any problem with the quality of the sound in the call or any disconnection of the call except for the sloppy webcam. But, I understand the problem because I really do have a low signal at home.
