"Function Not Available" error on LG 47LG50 LCD TV

Our 1-year old 47LG50 LCD TV just started flashing the message "This Function Not Available" repeatedly. When this happened, the remote control wouldn't work and I had to turn the set off manually. Any idea what's wrong?

Hello,
Contacted LG and it was simple. If using cable or sattelite box, you need to program the box's remote to the TV. Just did it and it worked.

And how do we program the box's remote to the TV?

A software upgrade may resolve the issue if not the main Pcb. would need replacement.

Contact LG during normal business hour 8-6 central time.

Red flashing light on 47lg50

After use Tv will not turn on

Tv will not turn on after previously being use. We will use the tv for a period of time turn it off and come back to it later in the day or night and the tv will not power on. The flashing red light on the bottom right corner will flash but it will not kick over to the blue light as it does when the tv is acting normal. Now we will wait an hour or two and the tv will turn on and work but it just starts the cycle all over again. The tv is not hot or warm or anything and does not make a noise. What can I do to fix this?

We regret the trouble you have experienced with this television. There does seem to be a problem with the Power Supply, or one of the related components of this TV. The unit will likely require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, athttp://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

I have a two year old LG 47lg50 LCD HDTV and recent started getting "function not available now" flashing continuously on screen. Also set will not power off permanently, returns on shortly after...

The solution for the problem is to replace the control PCB. The PCB is the printed circuit board that controls the volume, channel and menu buttons.

These parts can be found and bought from Sears parts direct.

A break down of the cabinet parts can be found here.

Lcd has audio only no video from any input source

There are two places to look for the problems, the backlight inverter board and the power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.
