Camera slips on tripod

I have a slik U212 tripod. the rubber mat that went between the camera and attached to the mounting plate has come off (and disappeared). Any suggestions of how to fix (materials to use how to affix it to the mounting plate? I have the screw, it is just the rubber mat that creates enough friction to keep camera in place (from turning when placed for vertical photo for instance.)

Try cutting cork(available from local harfware store and gluing that to head. Be sure to cut precisely and don't forget about hole in center fot mounting post.

I have a SLIK Single Action Panhead Tripod. How do I mount the camera on the tripod?
it is a quick release plate. there is usually a button or lever to release the plate. you then screw the plate into the bottom of your camera or camcorder and mount the plate back onto the tripod. you can leave the plate on your camera when you store it to allow for faster setup.

Attachment at base of camera - SLIK 88M
The standard tripod screw mount is 1/4"-20tpi. 1/4"-20 UNC will also work. You should be able to find such bolts at your local hardware store.

I loaned out my Slik Universal U212 tripod. It was returned without the nut and clamping mechanism for the pan handle. Any idea where I might find replacements. Slik's site doesn't have them. Too
