at radio shack I believe the patch cords are about 30 dollars and a little less at best buy they are around 22 bucks

The type of tape you use in this palmcorder is VHSC I hope this information helps you with your problem.

i have dew detected all the time that shuts down my camera

When the camera's circuits detect condensation on the tape heads, this message is shown and the camera shuts down. This is to prevent damage to tapes, that could stick to the damp head.  It is recommended to leave the camera in a warm and dry place until sufficient time has elapsed for the condensation to evaporate. This may be several hours. Do not leave the camera anywhere too warm that is likely to damage it, like on a stove or radiator.  This issue is commonly caused by moving the camera from the cold outdoors, into the warmth of indoors. If the symptoms persist, the head may be dirty. try a head cleaner cassette, or failing that, return for service.

It hopefully just needs gentle persuasion with tweezers and good light.  Failing that you may need an engineer to dismantle the camera. Send it away for service.

that's bad news my friend..I strongly recommend to your technician its because the motherboard had caused you to a big problem ( its either the circuitry what burned or damaged)
