I have lost all my maps on my garmin nuvi 255W-

Do a hard reset on your GPS. Download and install Garmin Express from Garmin. Plug your GPS into your computer. The software will identify your GPS and allow you to download new maps to it.

Why my garmin nuvi 2595 LMT GPS is taking me off freeways

Some GPS has this problem once in a while. When it happens, turn the GPS off and restart it again. Problems should be solved.

I want to know how to avoid highway 407 in my gps it showing always but i dont like to take 407 so that's why i want to know

When you plan an itinerary, and the GPS gives the 407, look for an alternative. You will be able to use the avoid (roads, toll roads, etc.) feature. My TomTom allows me to avoid specific places.

My garmin keeps trying to give walking direction instead of driving directions.

It sounds like your Nuvi is set on "off road". Please look for the setting that allows you to select "faster time", "shorter distance" or "off road". Your unit is probably set to "off road" where you are given directions like a compass and not by roads.

I would just like to know how I can tell my Garmin Nuvi 350 to avoid taking me through the toll roads. Is there a way to chose to not be given a direction that takes you through a toll road?

Yes, very easy to do. Click on the wrench/tools symbol. Then click on the Navigation icon and then select "Avoidances". Press and put a check mark next to the text that is labeled "Toll Roads".
