I have an epson stylus photo rx500, but have lost the installation disc and have no smart panel function so cannot scan or copy and espon are useless and say it was a bundle and newsoft supplied the software for the smart panel but newsoft says i need it installed to upgrade drivers!! can you please advise where i can download this software to get this useless maching working. i am on Windows xp. Thanks

hi there.. seems, a hard job huh? transfering it from 1 folder to other.

try this , open epson scan program, goto home mode. click preview, click scan, it will open file save settings window where you can select where to save your picture, under location , look for the folder where you want to save it, if its not on the list, select other then look for the folder or for your appleworks, once you found it, click ok, it will scan and save directly to the appleworks.

Keep in mind that Photo Impression will be the trial version as I can't find a free version for you to download, I think its a 15 day limit on the software so I apologize for not finding a free version, you get the software with no limitations when you buy the printer cause it comes as part of the printer package.

Press the On button to turn off the Stylus Photo RX500. Unlock the transportation lock. Make sure that all packaging materials have been removed. Turn on your Stylus Photo RX500 again. If the error message still appears, call Epson so they can replace your printer.

Chances are you can scan from the computer but if you are going to copy using it as standalone it will not scan- try running epson scan from computer.

haven't come across this problem myself, but renew all the ink cartridges, using Epson genuine only and no refills

may i suggest u try installing it on a windows platform ,if the problem goes away, then it is the present operating system that you may be usuing.

1. Make sure the shipping lock on the scanner is free see- set up sheet. 2. Remove all Epson software relating to this device. 3. ReBoot. 4. make sure you are off line. 5. Fully disable any Anti Virus software Switch off the unit and disconnect the USB cord 7. Now install the software and follow the EPSON steps exactly -take no shortcuts
