I've been having the exact same problem. Its been working fine for the past year and a half but its been playing up for a few months, and now, it keeps on displaying the low battery sign and when i plug it in to charge, my computer wont read it, and nothing happens. I've tried it on other computers and it still wont work and even tried another USB port but stil no change. Please help me.

Try getting a new USB Cable.
I myself have had the Same Problems.
And that seems to help.

I was suffering the same problem with the low battery usb disabled , after trying all usb slots and nothing , i have a usb keyboard that has a pin socket to usb adapter , i plugged my mp3 player into the usb keyboard adapter and it charged the mp3 player enough to get rid of that message usb disabled , and i then plugged it into a usb slot and the mp3 is charging and working properly again ,
hope this helped

I was going through the same situation with my mp3 player and was not able to charge it due to usb disabled , i had tried pluggin the player into all the different usb slots on the computer and nothing .
the way to fix this is , i have a usb keyboard that came with an adapter for the traditional pin socket that the older keyboards plugged into . so this adapter plugs into a pin socket but becomes a usb jack for the keyboard , i plugged the mp3 player into this socket as it isnt a usb its a pin socket which charged the mp3 player enough to remove that painful message battery low usb disabled and it can be then plugged back into a normal usb socket ..

    hope this helps everyone

WHERE DO I PURCHASE A REPLACEMENT BATTERY

  • coralsoft Jul 29, 2011

Try eBay - there are plenty there. Alternatively, disconnect the battery for a few minutes, then reconnect, reassemble and try charging it over the USB cable. It appears that some people have had some success after full disconnection of the battery from player.

After using my YP-Z5 for about 8 months, all of a sudden I had the same problem yesterday, (low battery, usb deferred) and again today, on two different pc's. This afternoon I tried another usb port on the first pc. The connection screen appeared without any delay, and the battery started charging. The funny thing was that when retrying the first usb port, the player functioned normally as well!

My Samsung YP-Z5 player wont respond to charging. Tried plugging into several USB ports on different computers but wont charge. Its constantly displaying .... Low Battery & USB Disabled. I was...

Yes, they only last two to three years.

A search of eBay, a place i look to check availability gives a number available.
Search "Samsung YP-Z5 battery"

If you are able to open up the case You could cut off the existing battery leads close to the battery and join the two wires. Soldering is preferred if you have an insulated tip soldering iron.
Otherwise twisting the wires together is probably good enough.
Tape the joins to strengthen and insulate them.

Samsung YP-Z5F MP3 player malfunction

I have that kind of Mp3 Player too... that happened to me, but the PC was able to read mine. However, the reason why the message: "Low Battery USB Disabled" appears, is that you still have remaining battery life, but will only last for less than an hour (indicated by low light and red empty battery sign) you have to make sure the Mp3 is completely discharged. (you'll be notified when you turn on the device while it says: "Low Battery") once that it is completely discharged, you can now plug in the USB cable with the device to the PC... if problem persists, check your PC.. can it read the device? Check if a notification balloon appears at the bottom right corner of the monitor screen. It should say, "Found New Hardware... Samsung YP-Z5F..." if it did not appear, try to INSTALL using the Installation CD given when you bought the product. Just insert the disk into the PC and continue on, then when it is already installed and ready for use, plug in the device! This may be a little hard, but this is the only way I know. Feel free to ask me! I am no technician but I know a lot on devices and fine mechanics. Good luck!
