Error message when you try to install a 2007 Office program: "Microsoft Office <Product_Name> 2007 encountered an error during setup. Error 1714"

To work around this issue, use the Add or Remove Programs feature in Control Panel to uninstall the earlier version of Office. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, click Run, type appwiz.cpl, and then click OK.
  2. In the Currently installed programs list, click the Office program that you want to remove, and then click Remove.
  3. In the Add or Remove Programs dialog box, click Yes.
After the earlier version of the Office program is uninstalled, install the 2007 Office program.

I put my product key in successfully but wont install

Does it attempt to connect to Microsoft's servers to verify the key? Are there any messages or errors? I've seen this happen on occasion, try calling their activation number 888-571-2048 to reactivate.

Keep getting the error message 25004 when trying to install microsoft home and student 2010

Check to see if there is any trial versions of MS Office installed on your machine, there is an issue when trying to install MS Office H&S 2010 if there is a trial version still on the hard drive.

I bought Microsoft Office (home office and student

The only thing i suggest you here is to remove the older all the versions of MS office from your computer and then completely install new MS office.
That would solve the problem.
Thanks

Lost disk for MS Office Home and Student 2007

Perhaps you don't have the requirements necessary to install and or use the program.
check that HERE
If that's not the case, perhaps there was a faulty installation that occurred. The easiest way to determine if this is the problem is to think "did it ever work before?"
If it did work, then the problem could be lying in a registry somewhere, that became corrupted, and is affecting the operation of the program.
If that is the case, then the best thing to do would be uninstall, and reinstall it (with a reboot inbetween to remove any unused registry entries.)
the last thing that you could be facing is a bad sector in the hard drive, and that is pretty much incurable depending on size, and not to sound like a *****, but those are INSANELY difficult to fix, and you can damage a LOT more than just office if you try to fix it, and don't know how. If this is the problem, short of paying a clean room facility to strip, and relocate your data for 300 to a new drive, I'd say going out, and buying a new hard drive would be the best option. If you're not sure what kind you have, simply PM me with whether or not you have a desktop, or laptop, and the model number of it (located near the top and on the back of laptops, and misc. places on desktops
Hope this helps you,

Install MS office home and student 2007

Reboot

Shut down any active protection software such any antivirus, antispyware, antitrojan, or registry monitoring software.

Try to Unistall by using the install disk. It should detect a previous installation and ask if you want to Install, Repair, or Uninstall.

If that fails, download and run CCleaner - Use the Cleaner and Regisrty modules default settings
http://www.ccleaner.com/

Reboot, and shut down active protection software.

Download and run Windows Installer CleanUp Utility.
http://support.microsoft.com/KB/290301
Remove the applicable entries.

Reboot, and shut down active protection software.

Reinstall

Hope this helps - good luck!

On my new HP computer, Office Home and Student 2007 is factory installed for a 60-day trial. I bought Office Home and Student 2007 locally and have tried to install it, but do not think it will install as...

Go to Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs and look for the Office Trial. Click on "Remove", then try to install the new software.

(BTW, any other not wanted pre-installed software programs can be removed the same way.)
