During slow spin, there is loud clacking (about 4 times per second) and motor spins very slowly. How to fix? New main motor? electronic component on circuit-board?
IF THIS IS A FRONT LOADER CHECK THE REAR PULLY AND BELT.I HAVE RAN INTO A COUPLE PULLYS LOOSENING UP. IF SO REPLACE THE PULLY AND BELT. ALSO CHECK THE HOLES IN THE SPIN TUB,MAYBE A NAIL IS STUCK THROUGH ONE.GOOD LUCK!

Old Navy wants too much for free . we diyers learn by doing for our selves .when I can not fix I either junk it and get new or call the local repair service to have it cat least checked out .
Bad transmission (gearcase). broken connector rod inside unit is causing noise. also causes slow spin and drain. unit will usually be trying to agitate as it spins. Replace transmission.
My HE2T was making a horrendous sound during the spin cycle. It was
making a loud clacking sound and the machine was moving all over the
place.
There are two things to check. The first is that the feet
are on the floor and the machine is level. The second is a bit more
complex. Remove the three screws that hold the lower panel. Underneath
the drum on each of the four corners are suspension rods. One side is
attached to the drum and the other side is bolted to the bottom of the
washer. My bolts loosened up which allowed the suspension rods to clack
back up and down as the drum spun. You'll need to tighten those bolts
very tight and then give it another try.
Attached on the inside
of that cover is the troubleshooting guide. There is a manual
diagnostic mode and you can step it to the spin cycle so that you can
test the spin balance without having to run through a full cycle. Make
sure you have some clothes in there during the test.
Well it is ethier Belt, Cluch ,motor ,Or transmission. But it does sound like your transmission . The loud clunk is the brake in the gear case ( Trans.). It might have broken off.
Look for loose wiring connection at the motor capacitor (located beside the motor). Remove the connectors to the capacitor (one at a time), adjust connectors so they crimp the capacitor connection tabs tighter if necessary, and re-install. *Be very careful not to touch both capacitor connection tabs at the same time or you will get a good zap!* If that doesn't help, you may have a defective motor. Good luck!
its not your unit it your electricity,,you have to many thing on 1 breaker..the unit is asking for power ,,a washing machine needs a breaker of 15 amps by its self..put the unit on a oulet by its self..with no other load
Machine has a bad motor or "stator" on this machine. It is a direct drive winding on the back of the machine. Remove the back panel, the one bolt removes the rotor then you will see the stator winding, replace it and your good to go.
gnarly, do you have the updated motor, harness and start cap? If it goes into spin and does this chunk a chunka chunka bit. Take a meter to the white and white/red wire going to the motor. If you have a steady 120V, replace the motor with the new kit. What the motor is doing is jogging between high to low speed. Catriver..post back.
