Wow that's allot to ask of only 40 watts, the more speakers the quieter they'll all be.By adding 2 more speakers you'll only have 20watts per channel.Speaker selection is important too.A 4ohm speaker is louder than an 8ohm one,but less ohms translates into more noise earlier on the volume dial. The high ohm speakers are quieter but they are a cleaner sound. If you want fidelity and more volume or sound you'll need more watts. You can't really do much with your system being under powered. And high volume levels cause distortion which causes speaker failure. The dial may go up to 100 but how high can you really turn it up before the clarity gives way to noise?Your system is designed for a small room that doesn't need much volume.A living room needs more watts to fill the room with sound, maybe 100 watts a channel.A 5.1 system would have 100 watts per channel or 100watts X 5=500watts total. So you see,40watts just doesn't leave much room for improvement.

My daughter just turned 16 and she wanted a better stereo for her room.I bought her a 400 watt system.100 X 2 speakers and 200 X 1 Subwoofer.WAY more than she needed for her room, with the door closed she can knock pictures off the walls.

I sure hope this helps you out?

Can I attach a technics Sl-HD501 CD changer to a technics SL-HD70 system

Yes you should be able to loop through the RCA outputs into the RCA inputs on the back of the machine. However i see no reason to do so.

My Technics SC-HD501. I need advice on speakers and the max range of out put i can get. I want to add two more speakers to my current setup. Whats the maximum wattage i can get? Willl i be able to add...

Looking at the specs for your system, the amplifier only puts out 23x2 watts. That means each speaker right now will get 23 watts (approx.). This amplifier is built to drive the load (the speakers) that is hooked up to it now. If you were to hook up another set of speakers, they would have to be pretty small (similar to what came with the system) with a higher impedance (over 8 would be good). The issue is the increased load/strain on the amplifier with the new speakers. However, if you are using relatively small speakers, with short run of speaker wire you should be allright (most amps have a temp protection built in, if the amp gets too hot it will shut off). To hook up additional speakers use the terminal that are there. You will 2 right speakers and 2 left. Place both positive ends of the right speakers in the positive terminal on the back of the amp (twist the ends together, if you must) and both negatives in the negative terminal, for the right speaker, on the back of the amplifier. Do the same for both left speakers.
In summary, you can probably hook another set up small speakers (which are only a short distance away from the amp) without much problem assuming you wont be pushing the amplifier to its limits all the time. You may find the amplifier lack punch or looses some sound quality though as the amp is not designed to be driving and controlling that many speakers.
Hope this helps
