I think you are mixing up two different technologies. You said you have recently bought a Wireless Router and when you try scanning for Bluetooth devices you can't find it?

First of all, Bluetooth isn't Wi-Fi. You should go to Network Settings under Settings in the XMB and choose for a Wireless Connection and then let it scan.

Be sure you don't have a 40 GB PlayStation 3 since they don't have Wi-Fi.

I hope this helps. Please rate.
Greetings,

DarkNeogen.

Trying to connect my ps3 to my wireless router. Error code after automatic access connection says no connection.

PS3 is not finding your router.
Make sure you choose wireless network under network settings and choose scan for wireless network.
Make sure SSID on router is broadcasting and not hidden.
Make sure router is broadcasting in G or MIXED mode.
Try removing wireless security on the router (open mode) and testing to see if connection can be made.
If connection can be made without security then try with security on.
Place ps3 closer to the router or connect with ethernet cable to verify connectivity.
Verifiy router is working by connecting a laptop or other device to the internet/router.

The ps3 keeps scanning and wont pair with the headset

BELIEVE IT OR NOT, SOME HEADSETS ARE NOT COMPATIBLE WITH PS3. I HAD SOME PROBLEMS WITH MY PLANTRONICS 3XXX. I FOUND THE SOLUTION WAS THAT I WASN''T HOLDING DOWN THE BIG BUTTON ON THE FRONT LONG ENOUGH. WHEN I WOULD PRESS THE BUTTON, WHILE PS3 SEARCHED, I WOULD ACCIDENTALLY TURN OFF THE BLUETOOTH.

BE SURE THE BLUETOOTH IS POWERED ON. ONE TAP SHOULD DO.

WHEN PS3 BEGINS TO SEARCH, HOLD DOWN BIG BUTTON, AND DO NOT RELEASE UNTIL PS3 FINDS.

IF THERE IS A LIGHT ON THE BLUETOOTH, IT WILL PROBABLY BLINK A COUPLE TIMES WHEN FOUND. THE NAME OF THE BLUETOOTH WILL ALSO SHOW ON THE TV.

OH YEA, BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR PS3 SETTINGS.MAKE SURE IT IS SET TO ACCEPT BLUETOOTH HEADSET CONNECTION.

My ps3 cant find my wireless network anymore

get your router name and go through manual setup, your brother may have accedentally made your wireless network hidden, to change that go to http://192.168.1.1 or .0.1 and log in and chang the settings to default

Why won't my ps3 connect to my wireless router? An IP address is needed which it will not find, only on wired connection will it connect!?

Disconnect the LAN cable from the PS3.
The PS3 needs to be configured as follows :-
Select Network Settings - Easy - Wireless - Scan, select your wireless router, select your SSID, if it isn't displayed the type it in, select security settings, enter your router's encryption settings

Your router will issue an IP address to the PS3 and you will able to access the Internet wirelessly.

Cant connect ps3 wireless to dlink router

The router should assign an IP address to your PS3 if it isn't manually configured. If you are connecting wirelessly make sure your security setting on your PS3 match your router. If the problem persists disable wireless security on your router and then try to connect with the PS3 with security disabled as well. Sometimes consoles have trouble connecting with WEP or WPA security encryption.

PS3 can't detect access point

i have some solutions..
1. if there's lots of walls between the router and your ps3 it may not detect the signal. i had a very weak signal until i moved some stuff around.
2. you can manually type in your wireless name and i think it should at least reconize it, and maybe connect.
3. make sure theres no firewalls or anything to block other connections from entering your signal.
thats all i can say, sorry im not a tech guy-only 17!

Have you charged the controllers in a while. The controler might just be running out of energy to work.
