Water leaks (drips ) into tub after cycle/spin is complete

After completing a wash cycle ( thrugh the spin ), water continues to "drip" into the tub...for varying amounts of time - not extremely long ( but never actually timed the duration ). The machine is seven years old, but the problem has only occurred in the last two weeks ( since the last week in January, '08 ).

Thanks...let me make sure that I get your drift; When you speak of "hose", do you mean the hose that goes from teh awter supply itself to the fitting on the washer, or do you mean a different 'hose' ( maybe something inside the washer's abck bulkhead ? )....

    Thanks again....

Hi there

you can check the connection hose thats directly under the tank. it may be due to time and there may be a crack on the hose. you may readily buy a replacement hose from any malls in your area and you can actually do the replacing yourself. Doing the replacement requires you to tilt or completely flip over the machine to handle the changing of the hose with ease.

hope this helps

You have a bad pressure switch or the small hose connecting to the pressure switch may be bad

If the washer leaks water when is filling only, check the following: 1.Fill hoses
2.The water mixing valve

3.Filling injector ( If your washer uses one )
4.Filling spout

If the washing machine leaks during the wash cycle, check the following:
1.The pump
2.The tub stem & seal
3.Tub to pump hose
4.The drain hose
5.Tub (rusted holes)
6.The drum support bolts

If the washing machine leaks during the spin cycle, check the following:
1.The drain hose
2.The tub cover seal
3.The pump
4.The pump hoses

5.The stem & seal
6.The drum support bolts

Dripping in tub when complete

If your Kenmore washer series 400 model 22102 is dripping water in the tub after the cycle is complete, there could be a few potential causes. Here are some things to check:
  1. Water valve: The dripping could be due to a faulty water inlet valve. This valve controls the flow of water into the machine and if it's not closing properly, water can continue to drip into the tub even when the cycle is complete. You may need to replace the water inlet valve to fix the issue.
  2. Water level sensor: Another potential cause of dripping could be a malfunctioning water level sensor. This sensor tells the washer when the tub is full and it's time to stop filling with water. If the sensor is faulty, it may not be accurately detecting the water level, which could lead to dripping. You may need to replace the water level sensor to fix the issue.
  3. Drain hose: If the washer is not properly draining, it could also lead to dripping after the cycle is complete. Check the drain hose for any kinks or clogs that could be preventing water from draining properly. You may need to clean out the drain hose or replace it if it's damaged.
  4. Overloading: If you're overloading the washer with too much laundry, it could be causing water to overflow and drip into the tub after the cycle is complete. Make sure you're following the manufacturer's guidelines for load size to avoid overloading the machine.
If you're unsure of how to diagnose or fix the issue, it may be best to consult a professional technician or reach out to the manufacturer for assistance.

The water, there was no water left in the tub of the washer, but the clothes were dripping wet; and the cycle was showing to be complete. I had to re-set the dial to the spin setting inorder to completely...

What has happened is that your water pump has gone out and it cannot pump the water out of the washers tub. This is a common issue and replacing the pump is not that hard assuming you have the time, effort, tools and energy.

Water is continually leaking into the tub from the inlets as a slow drip. This happens while the washer is off and continues forever unless the water supply is turned off. This is a stackable washer/dryer.

A defect in the water-inlet valve may mean that it's no longer able to shut off completely when the electricity has been turned off to it. If this occurs, the valve may leak and drip water into the clothes tub. In time, the water may accumulate substantially. If this happens, you need to replace the valve.

Water continues to drip into the tub even after all cycles have completed. my tub is filling up with water, I have turned off the water to the machine but it continues.

The water inlet valve needs to be replaced. It's not shutting off the water completely. It's located where the water hoses connect to the washer.

Water drips in tub after washing is completed! kenmore 80 series

Check the solenoids at the water inlet valve. They can be tested using a multimeter or ohmmeter. Check for continuity. A lack of continuity indicates a faulty solenoid. I will attach a photo for reference. A bad solenoid will permit water to leak through to the tub. Hope this helped and best wishes.

Leaking water

Does not sound like a bearing problem. Check to see if water is overflowing the top of the tub during spin cycle (due to spin action) and running down the side of the tub.  Water rising up the side of the tub during spin cycle could also be squirting up through bleach dispenser opening and running down side of tub.
