Hi, i've got a canon, pixma MP160 printer, today the paper wont go through, the wheels are moving and it drops down as if to start but it wont take the paper any further. i took out the ink cart. and found a small piece of paper on one of them which i've now removed but it didn't help, have you any ideas please? thanks
I had the same problem with my mp 160, I tried to print but the printer only took the left side of the page and the paper got jammed. I pulled it out but I think a piece was left inside the printer. Error message was blinking, but somehow I got the printer moving again. I tried to print again, but this time the printer would take 1/10 of the whole page and stop, even though rollers were moving. My solution for this was to take a piece of thin cardbore(I used a magazine cover), cut it in a shape of A4, put it in printer, printed it and when the rollers start moving I forcebly pushed the cardboard through. Now it seems to work fine.
Check in the paper path which might be blocked or some foreign object in the way of the paper feed, if the rollers are turning it usually does not suggest a problem with the mechanism itself

Just try to turn it over. I had the same problem, but when I searched for the screws below to open my mp160, a pen went out from the paper loader. The pen was not visible from the top but it was there!
Check for more obstructions...
Hi guys,
I was having problems with my printer also, it acted like it wanted to take the paper, but would get stuck and make a little dent at one part. I got a thick card stock about 4 inches wide and opened the envelope thing at the bottom and then moved the slider at the top, finally was able to FORCE about 2 1/2 inches through and dragged the rest down from the inside and the paper was ripping, and humped at one point, because there was a thumb tack wedged in there!! Once I pulled that through, and reset the machine; it works like new!!! Hooray!! ;) Hope this helps somebody, Good Luck!

I have tried everything, and still nothing happens, and I have searching Canon web site for a solution and there is nothing that can help. The way I see it, I will have to buy a new printer, and it woun't be canon never again will i purchase a canon printer.
