1.Go to control panel
2.Click on Internet Options
3.On the top, select the Advanced tab
4.At the bottom of the page, reset all the settings(not only advanced settings, there will be two such reset options)
5.If doesn't fix, try re-installing google chrome or use Apple Safari on Windows(it will work) or use mozilla firefox. You will definitely be able to go online if its only an issue with the browser and not with internet connection.

Error 137

Hopefully I can find a definite solution to this problem. I just wasted hours searching and reading through past discussions but all have the same end - NOT SOLVED.

It just happened last week. Whenever I open Google Chrome this appears:

"This webpage is not available

The webpage at http://www.google.com/ might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.

Error 137 (net::ERR_NAME_RESOLUTION_FAILED): Unknown error."

It is working for me. Problably there is (was?) a problem with the DNS servers of your ISP.

It sounds like your internet connection is down, can you view any other websites? Try visiting a random link from google, otherwise you may be viewing pages already stored on your computer.

This webpage is not available. The webpage at http://google.com/ might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address. I removed, redownloaded, reinstalled, same problem.

Try typing the following in the address bar: http://64.233.169.99. This is Google's IP address. If the Google page appears, then it's a DNS problem. Otherwise, it could be an internet connection problem, unless you are able to successfully visit other sites with other browsers. Then, if you are using Vista, could be a permission problem.
