DLP type sets regardless of brand all have some things in common--use a lamp, a Ballast, etc.
If sound you need to see if the lamp is coming on when set is turned on--usually in these type sets if no brightness one or more lights on the front of the set will be blinking---no model number is indicated with this question..
Hi, Is is standby light blinking red or any other light? Let me know how many times red standby light blinking after three seconds long pause to provide you helpful info. It seems pop sound was due to broken lamp, please check lamp inside tv and if it is broken, replace it to solve tv problem. Hope this will help. Thanks.
the lamp has blown replace if got instruction book that came with tv shows you how if not got the lamp is behind cover on side or frount cover that comes off by undoing two black screws on back corners (each lower corner) anda sharp pull will remove cover
3 times blink shows lamp cover is removed or not installed properly on TV. Please take out lamp inside TV and check, seems its broken as you heard loud pop. Thanks.
Look in the owners manual for the directions on how to remove the lamp. Your model the lamp goes in from the front on the left looking at the TV. There is a thumb screw in the back on the corner holding the left front speaker on. Under the panel there is another thumb screw holding the lamp door on. You will need a Phillips screw driver to remove the lamp. You will most likely find that the lamp is bad. You will either have to order a lamp directly from JVC, a service center or a parts distributor.
