Took our magicJack with us to England. It worked fine back home in the US. But here it says ''connect to the internet and double click here [error 3]''. We're connected to the internet (Firefox works fine). Double clicking gets us to a screen that asks us to ''Verify your Login''. We do so and then get a ''please wait'' message on the magicJack screen that doesn't change (that is, we wait forever). Can ou help??

I think you may want to see this Frequently asked question regarding using MagicJack overseas.

Can I make calls to countries outside the US and Canada on magicJack?

You may be getting the verify your Login message, because according to their knowledge-base, to call from another country outside of the US and Canada, you have to actually prepay for to use International minutes with MagicJack.

This may be why you are not getting the connectivity to place your calls through the MagicJack from within England. Take a look at that link.

I can hear perfectly the party I call or when they call me but they can never hear me clearly

This maybe due to "echo" n long distance calls.

magicJack works hard to ensure a clear connection.

If you experience an "echo" when using a magicJack on a computer:

  1. Go to "Menu" on the top right-hand corner on your magicJack softphone
  2. Click "Headset/Volume Control..."
  3. Lower the volume for both "Speaker" and "Microphone" to about 1/3 (one-third) of the maximum levels.
If that does not work:
  • Try plugging your magicJack into a different USB port.
If that does not work:
  • Unplug your magicJack, restart your computer, and plug your magicJack back in.
If that does not work:
  1. Unplug your magicJack, turn your modem and router ( if you have one) off and wait 3 minutes.
  2. Turn your modem and router back on and plug your magicJack back in.
If you experience an "echo" when using a magicJack connected to modem or router:
  1. Lower the volume on your telephone.
  2. Unplug your magicJack from the power source, wait 30 seconds, and plug it back.
If that does not work:
  1. Unplug your magicJack, turn your modem and router ( if you have one) off and wait 3 minutes.
  2. Turn your modem and router back on and plug your magicJack back in.

If you hear error 1 while trying to place a call with your magicJack, it means that you are not connected to the Internet.
To resolve this, make sure that one end of the ethernet cable is plugged into your modem/router/switch and the other end into your magicJack.
You also need to make sure that your modem/router/switch is powered on and that the port you have connected the magicJack to is functioning correctly.

Cannot connect to a wireless network when am not at home

Hi make sure once you connect that you enter the 'password' / key to connect to the network. You can right click on it and select 'connect to this network'. Then it should ask you for the network key once it is connected. Once entered you should be able to use 'his' network.

Let me know if this worked ok for you.
