I just recently took apart my GE Dryer, model number DJSR473ET1WW to fix a loud noise. I put it back together and now I realize that the back of my dryer is extremely hot. Is there something I may have overlooked when putting it back together Thanks

Sounds like you hava a venting problem. Disconnect the vent on the back and see if it still gets hot.

If it gets hot when the dryer is not on, then the heating element coil is shorting out on the element pan.

Hope that all helps.

My GE electric dreyer, DHDSR46EGWW, is making squeaking noise and a grinding noise. My husband took is apart last night and put back together. When he started it the noises came back and he said it...

It could be the rear bearing or if not it have your honey take it apart again and inspect the rear rollers, if they turn freely then inspect the front bearing assy it is on the the door and if it looks worn down then it is allowing excessive pressure on the rest of the unit .

GE Harmony Dryer makes Loud Vibrating noise

If you can open the walls of the dryer up check all screws and bolts that hold things together. Some times they will vibrate loose causing parts to make a vibrating sound against the frame itself.. Eventually the loose screws will just keep getting looser. Even the screws on the walls of the unit should be tightened That could cause a lot of noise.

Replace the rear drum bearing WE3X75 . Also, check the front drum support slides WE1M481 and WE1M333 at this time to see if they also need to be replaced.

Noisy dryer......when engaged...making squeaking/squealing noise.

If the noise is like a shaking of rattling , like coins being shaked , then it is an object trapped inside the drum.

If instead the noise is a loud grinding , that may get louder on high speed, then it is usually a bad drum bearing.

If dryer is not cooling, check that the noise is not coming from the ventilation fan.

Rollers and belt tensioner can also make noise.

GE Spacemaker washer/dryer

If you can get it apart, you should be able to fix it yourself. This is a tricky task though (I've seen customers spend hours just trying to change a belt, which you'll have to remove), so you may want to pay the money and have someone come out.

It is hard to say without hearing the noise for myself, but my best educated guess would be that the dryer drum bearing needs to be lubricated. You should lubricate it with white lithium grease, about 1.5 ounces of it.

In order to do this, you will have to take the dryer front off, remove the belt from underneath the drum and then remove the drum. You will see a bearing on the backside of the drum (looks like a post with a ball on it). You will see where that inserts on the back wall of the dryer. You should put the grease in the insertion point, then put the dryer back together again.
