omg thank you so much i never see that box "show beta version" so easy...

I have the Maudio 1814 running on windows xp pro x64 bit. I've been
using the beta 64 bit driver now for about a year. Somehow, something
has snatched away the output. I've been racking my brain for 30 hours
or more trying to "fix it". The unusual part is that it appears to be
fine. I can still watch the vu meters play along with any audio
source. Any audio originating in the pc will show on all of my Maudio
visuals as if it's there, but there is no actual analog output to the
amp. I even restored a 6 month ago copy of my system to a new drive
expecting this to work but even now there is no sound from a backup
that was months before this problem. I would have concluded this is a
hardware defective issue but I also have an Maudio Audiophyle and it
has the same issue. The real twist is that if I boot my windows xp
home 32 bit drive, everything there is fine.. same hardware, etc. So
I have something lurking in my 64 bit system that apparently can cross
over and afffect my backup 64 bit drive as well.

    I
think if I could strip my xp of all audio drivers, references, etc it
would possibly let me reinstall maudio but I tried that and no luck,
however I may have missed something in the clean up. For the record,
I can still make a usb audio card work, I can still make the internal
pnp card work, but with maudio, it will not work. ANy ideas?

Go to http://www.m-audio.com and select the firewire 410, then select windows xp (64 bit) and make sure that you check the box "Show Beta Versions". There's been a beta driver since 2005 ;-)

My M-audio FireWire 410 doesn't work

It sounds like you may be experiencing a configuration issue with your M-Audio FireWire 410 audio interface. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Check the connections: Make sure that the FireWire 410 is securely connected to your computer and that all cables are properly plugged in. If the connections are loose or faulty, it can cause problems with the audio output.
  2. Restart the device: Sometimes, restarting the audio interface can resolve issues with the audio output. To do this, disconnect the FireWire 410 from your computer, wait a few seconds, and then reconnect it.
  3. Update the drivers: It is possible that the drivers for your FireWire 410 may be out of date or incompatible with your operating system. To update the drivers, visit the M-Audio website and download the latest drivers for your device. Once the drivers are installed, restart your computer and try using the FireWire 410 again.
  4. Check the settings: Make sure that the FireWire 410 is selected as the default audio device in your operating system's audio settings. You can access these settings by going to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound. Under the Playback and Recording tabs, select the FireWire 410 and click the Set Default button.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, it is best to contact M-Audio support for further assistance. They should be able to provide you with specific guidance for troubleshooting the problem with your FireWire 410.

XPS-410 needs to have MCE 2005 Rollup two SP3 replaced by Windows 7 64 bit. Too many problems to list currently but will work limited programs

Not sure what you are trying to do. If you are trying to convert 32 bit to 64 bit Apps, try going to manufacturers website to look for drivers.
Win 7 will actually find the best drivers for your devices.

My M-Audio 410 run well on my XP pc.... after that i try to use it on win7 pc using driver download frm m-audio website but it can't detect. after that i try to test back on my last xp pc but it can't...

HI there
I would imagine the drivers from M-Audio are not signed and therefore may not be proven to be compatible with win7. I checked the website and they have drivers for different service pack levels on Vista (I know yours is win7) which is very unusual. This points to them having issues releasing signed off working drivers. Make sure you know what you have installed, 32 or 64 bit win 7. Do not go by the sticker on the case. Go start>control panel>system and look it up philswift_13.jpg
Both versions of 64 bit and 32 bit seem the same file FireWire_6.0.1_5.10.0.5058.exe

which seems weird too

I would uninstall the drivers and choose delete as well
start>search> type 'dev' and see the results. Click on device manager, open it
under sound right click all devices>properties>click on driver tab>
philswift_14.jpg

then click uninstall but tick the delete driver box too
philswift_15.jpg

then reboot the pc but do not load the driver from M audio
we want Microsofts generic driver to load
After the reboot see if it works.

If not do a system update (start>search>type 'windows u' and click on windows update
Look under optiopnal updates and see if there is one for an audio device and load that

Failing this try the M audio XP driver
If that fails, uninstall and delete as per earlier.

Failing that try the Win 7 driver for 32 bit
If that fails, uninstall and delete as per earlier.

Failing that try the Win 7 driver for 64 bit
If that fails, uninstall and delete as per earlier.

I think M audio has issues with code for drivers and win 7
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anJJ02VV1qs
You may want to look at a new system as it seems M has some bad press with support.

All the best now, but it may be that the drivers are not signed off from Microsoft. If this is the case, you may want to chase up M audio and ask if they can be honest and let you know if there are any issues with Windows 7.
Microsoft are releasing Service Pack for Win 7 first half of 2011 and this may mop-up some issues. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows/downloads/service-packs
