I recently tried to replace my watch battery for my Guess watch. I even had the watch repair have a look at it and try to replace the battery at a local department store. However, after trying a few batteries in the appropriate size, none of them would fit so something is likely wrong with one of the watch parts. It has come to my attention that Guess watches have a ten year warranty. My watch is almost five years old and although I do have the box and instruction manual, I don't have the warranty. Would it be possible for me to get the watch fixed by you guys without providing you with the warranty? If so, could you please write me back and let me know what the appropriate channels would be for me to go through, in order to get it fixed. My watch is a different model than the serial number above because I couldn't find it on this site. The serial number is G85618L. Thanks a lot.

It appears to be a battery problem. Have you changed the battery recently? How have you checked the battery? I suggest you check the battery's voltage, even if it is a new, replaced battery.
You need to be sure the battery is not the problem before looking elsewhere.
Need more detail if this does not help, including the model of watch. Also how long has this problem existed, and when did you notice a change - was there a specific time/event?
Replacing a Raymond Weil watch battery should be performed by an authorized Raymond Weil dealer. Replacing the battery on contemporary Raymond Weils takes some skill because the case is pressurized on some models or contains a rubber gasket to keep it water-tight. If you determine your Raymond Weil watch has a pressurized case back, don't attempt a battery replacement. Take it to an authorized dealer. The warranty on a recently purchased Raymond Weil watch will be voided if you perform a battery replacement yourself. Replacing the battery yourself on older Raymond Weils without a warranty is an acceptable risk.
Change the battery. If your watch stops ticking, chances are the watch is not broken and the battery simply needs to be replaced. You can purchase a watch battery at your local department store or drugstore. Use the screwdriver to pry the back off the watch and place the new battery in the same place where the old one fit.

If your watch is still not working, determine the problem. If you can hear the watch ticking but the hands are not moving, there may be a gear stuck inside. If only one of the hands does not move, the hand itself could be broken. Once you determine the problem, you can see whether it makes more sense to purchase a new watch or get the old one fixed.

Check your watch warranty. If your Fossil watch came with a warranty that is not yet expired, Fossil will fix your watch if you send it to the company and pay for shipping and handling. If your watch strap is broken, however, Fossil will charge you a fee as broken straps are not covered in the warranty.

Check a competing local watch repair store. There are watch repair stores located all over the United States that will repair a Fossil watch if your watch is no longer under warranty or if you do not want to pay the shipping and handling to send the watch to Fossil's watch repair department. Although the watch repair store may not have the exact strap you are looking for, it may offer a replacement strap that is similar to the one that originally came with your watch.
Step 5
Return the watch to the store where you bought it. If you purchased a Fossil watch that was broken when you purchased it or broke recently after you brought it home, you may be able to return the watch for a refund or store credit. Check with the store's policy before purchasing the watch if you are concerned about returns.

You should go back to the watch repair shop and ask for complete check-out of your watch. No watchmaker can return the watch to the customer without properly checking all the gearwork, timekeeping, battery power and all the features the watch has. As your watch was serviced and the battery replacement took place, the executives of all the work done are responsible for all the faults your watch is having right now. As watch repairs are quite expensive and time consuming, they (probably) will argue with you about this issue, but DO NOT give up, as these are YOUR consumer rights to ask for the job to be properly done (under warranty or paid by you). In case if you will be turned down, ask for FULL refund and find another shop. If the repair shop is ready to undertake the job again, do not rush them, as the complete watch overhaul and check may take up to 6 weeks (this MUST be done at no any cost to you if you have the warranty or allready paid for the job). P.S. I suspect that there is some fault in your watch geartrain, because if it is shooked or moved, the watch works, but when idle-it stops. That means the service of your watch was NOT DONE properly, and some failure or even dirt in geartrain was missed by the watchmaker (sometimes it happens- nobody is perfect!). This doesn't mean you have to agree with it, so, go and get your watch properly serviced and checked out. Do not forget to rate, please.
My watch had the same problem and i could never figure out what it was so i just lived with it for a couple of years. then, just recently even when my watch was getting plenty of sun the battery would die in the evening and shut off at night. so i replaced the battery and evrything works great. even the light which leads me to believe the solar panel is just a gimmick. i have an old g-shock watch that i bought in 1989 and it still works and is on the origional battery. my gw 300 is about 5 years old and needed a battery. i guess 5 years on a battery is prety good but i would rather have it last for 19 years like my old one.
Hello, not much help I'm afraid, but I was wondering where you intend to get the replacement battery for the 'tic' part? I'm trying to avoid sending it to Fossil.
I imagine your fault would be covered by warranty, and you get 2 years as well I think?
