IMac not receiving some e-mails

I am not receiving some e-mails on my iMac.
I have to check back daily on my old PC to find out what I am missing.
I use my ISP mail service through the mac mail program.
I understand from one person at the local Apple store that this does happen and the "solution" is to add Windows through Boot Camp and then use Outlook. Should not have to do this

Perhaps looking in the mail preferences and see if you have any rules active, also do a spetlight search for a lost email that you do know from your pc, this could point you to a mailbox that they are going to.Mail is way better than outlook and I have never lost an email yet and I have used it since beta.

Testimonial: "Many thanks. Mail is the only area where I have had problems from the move. Great solution"

All my old mail, sent mail and personal mail is deleted daily how do i retrieve those important things back

Hi,

Did you check in Trash ? Most of the item that are deleted are first go to the Trash where they are deleted after a period of 30 days. If the content is 30 day old then it will be deleted automatically. Rest of the your mails that are not older will not be deleted.

Running an iMac and MacBook Pro side by side - have just brought Pro back from overseas where purchased nad am using it on home server for the first time. Can receive messages in Mail but not send from...

i used to run into this when i was in school. im pretty sure its something to do with the server settings allowing non-administered computers that are running on the server to send out connections or mail for some reason. so im guessing the solution would be where ever you created the server from

Are you getting any error messages when you check mail ?
I would certainly call your eMail hosting company, don't wait for them to call you back...
Sometimes, a mailbox can get corrupted.
One test you can do is to use this service:
http://www.mail2web.com/
you can see if your mailbox is still active and working.
