The HP 99 cartridge is used if you would like to print photos. The HP 99 replaces the HP 96 (black) cartridge in your printer. The HP 99 cartridge has black, photo magenta, and photo cyan inks in it. When you pair this with the cyan, magenta, and yellow in your HP 97 (color) cartridge you have the full set of photo colors represented.

I just refilled a 97 tri color cartridge for my HP 7410. It wont detect the new refilled cartridge. We have tried the #3 and #6....no results. please help.

The only thing you can try now is

# and 9

Thoguh this will lead to losing all the numbers saved and IP address if you have in your printer

Printer does not recognize color cartridge for my HP OfficeJet 7410

Are you sure it's a genuine HP cartridge? Sometimes remanufactured cartridges aren't recognized by the printers. HP and others make them so that they have a chip inside that ensures only new genuine cartridges can be used. Try a new HP and see if that solves the problem. If you've already tried that one, then make sure the contacts in the printer are clean. If you still have a problem, then I'd say try a new printer!

How do I print with the Photo 99 cartridge?

We need to insert the 99 cartridge in to the black cartridge slot since it is a photocartridge. Once we insert the new 99 cartridge it will detect and then align the cartridge. If it does not, then clean the cartridges and then power cycle the aio and then try again.

Cartridge 99 does not fit

one cartridge goes in at a time the color first
i found out there are new cartridges comen out what they call a change over to 300's i can remember them right off hand
but these 90's versions you might want to stock up cause these might disapear soon and seems though the 300 versions are haveing compatibility detection error problems
this kind of print carts. site on seen and site on asked printer dealer for these newer cartridges

Color cartridge problem

Check the color side of the carriage....there is a metal piece in there that breaks free from the side and will "stab" the circuitry board that the cartridge comes in contact with...you will probably see a hole in it...I have replaced several print carriages...fairly common problem with all of the HP printers that use the 96 and 97 cartridges...hope this helps
