Everytime I put my ipod on it refers me to connect my ipod to a PC and correct the problem with a "device manager". I do not have the software uploaded on my desk top.

Want to connect my IPOD model MA6277LL 16GB WITH MY PC, BUT UNABLE TO COMMUNICATE, NEED SOFTWARE FOR COMMUNICATION

Hi adnlbsh...

Try this solution to your problem.
Go to Device Manager
To get to Device Manager you will:
Right click on My Computer>Properties>click the Hardware Tab>Device Manager.
After you are in Device Manager look for your MP3 player or Unit.
Here you should see no "Yellow" exclamation points.
If you do they they are telling you that you have a device conflict.
If you currnetly have your unit plugged in, you may notice the "unknown device" which would be your Player or Unit.
If you unit has an exclamation point by it, then you will need to click on it and delete it.
After you remove all devices with conflicts then click on refresh and search again for your MP3 player/Device.
The computer should install your device this time and solve your problem with connection of the MP3 player/Device.
Download and install Itunes into your PC...start the I tunes program, plug your ipod in and it then should recognize it and allow you to download to it.
Please take time to rate me thumbs up.

I cant connect my ipod to i tunes ive uninstalled and renenstaled itunes please help not very good with computers

With the ipod connected, you will need to go to "device manager" . There will be a list of all devices on your computer there. Your Ipod will be listed there. Right click on it and click uninstall and confirm that choice if it asks you to. Unplug the ipod then restart the computer. When you next plug in your ipod the computer should see it. To find the device manager on your computer click help on the start menu and Type device manager on the search option.

Wont connect to computer

First try installing the support software that can be found on the support cd that came along with your product. It automatically installs needed drivers for the computer to recognize your player, and lastly if that doesnt work, try connecting the player to other PC, just to be sure and for you to diagnose waht seems to be the real culprit, becuase it is also possible that the players' USb port is damaged. try also using another usb cable

Why is my itouch registering as a digital camera and not a removable drive?

If you are referring to when you have it connected to an PC? This is normal, iPods/iPhones/iTouch register as an removable storage device when connected to an PC. This is useful because you can retrieve/add photo on to your device without using Apple software.

PLEASE VOTE IF THIS WAS HELPFUL. THANKS & GOOD LUCK.

Everytime i plug in my ipod its not showing that it's connected

Okay, don't freak out. What we'll do is systematically check the different points where a problem could be hiding, correct it or eliminate it, and then you can return to your normal iPodding. This could be no big deal so let's check the small stuff first, then we'll test the software.

Before we go ahead and troubleshoot your problem, lets quickly run through this checklist, just to make sure it is not something obvious:

  • Check your connections (USB fully plugged in? iPod connected?).
  • Plug the iPod directly into the computer (don't use a USB hub).
  • Try a different USB port.
  • Use a different cable (ask a friend if you can borrow their USB cable).
  • Remove all the other USB connections (sometimes other USB devices can cause a conflict).
  • Try this:
    • Unplug your iPod
    • Close all programs that are currently running.
    • Plug in your iPod.
    • Open iTunes.
  • Try rebooting the computer
ipod_notmounting_troushoot.gif If any of these steps got your iPod to show up in iTunes, make note of what was causing the problem, then continue to enjoy your iPodding lifestyle.

Ipod doesnt connect to my pc/i cant download

I had a very similar problem with a USB camcroder, drove me crazy! This sounds like a USB device4.gif not being recognized, this issue is rather uncommon with XP, it's not the player or device, unless the device is not working proplerly. 9 out of 10 times it's system device manager.

(Solution)
With the device plugged into the USB go to control panel and click on system and navigate to your device manager hardware>device manager, scroll down to Universal Serial Bus Controllers, there should be either an X or an exclamation mark indicating the device/driver is not loaded properly, right click on that line and chose uninstall driver, reboot then plug the device in, if it asks for a driver then put in the CD and let the driver install it. If this still does not work, then repeat the above but instead of choosing uninstall when you right click choose "update driver" and when it asks for a location to the driver, point it to the driver on the CD.

Hope this helps
