Quasar tv what is the code that links a universal remote to a quasar tv? I have a Quasar TV with VCR 15 years old and I can't program it to the Universal remote with any available codes. Maybe the code is an old one. How can I find it?

    My wife has a quasar tv that belonged to our son. My wife now has this tv, and it will not respond. I have a ge universal remote, she just needs the tv to turn on /off. I do have a vcr connected to the tv, to get all the channels. Please help. THANKS

Lost remote for my quasar tv/vcr combo, can find any universal remote to work
its not likely you will find a universal remote that will work with a "Quasar" product.
Quasar was actually Panasonic model line and has not been around since the 1980's.
If you have a universal remote- try using the Panasonic codes and see if that works...
if it does not, try the Philips codes and RCA codes.

All of the old recognizable "american brand names" have been purchased by The Chinese and are usually made from Philips parts ( Philips is also know as Magnavox and Sylvania)

I HAVE A QUASAR VV2008 TV/VCR COMBO AND I DONT HAVE REMOTE AND CANT GET TO NO CHANNELS EXCEPT 60 AND LINE
The remote model number for the Quasar VV2008 is VSQS1570 and can be ordered from Panasonic at 1-800-221-7262 or Go to a Family Dollar store and purchase the grey RCA universal remote for $6.00 about 6 inches in length. When you are ready to program it for the Quasar VV2008 push the code search button then the VCR button and enter 0162 then push enter. The red light should go off and the remote should turn the TV/VCR off and on. It worked for me 4/19/2013

Quasar 13" tv/vcr combo
Standard universal remotes rarely work well with combination devices. Try programming the TV part in the TV mode and the VCR functions in the VCR mode. If this doesn't work you may be out of luck unless you get a logitech harmony remote. You might be able to find one on ebay for about $50. Depending on the model the usually run $150 - $1000. These remotes need to be set up with a computer but the program is pretty strait forward. This is the only remote that I can guarentee will work.
