Check your power supply. Take it apart and see if the compositors are all in good shape. If they are popped, puckered or oozing stuff out of them then you are going to have to replace your power supply. It also could be a bad inverter. Is there a buzzing noise before it shuts down? Has been doing it for a while and now won't come on at all now?
Part Number 80.95C06.001 you can get this part from www.encompassparts.com also i recommend to replace the lamp too Part Number928137805390 lamp W/out cage
You need to look in your owners manual for the telephone number and order a new bulb. It should cost about $200, but they will ship it overnight and minimize your downtime.
I've replaced 2 in my WD-52525 in the last 3 years, the first one went like yours did, very suddenly, with an audible POP!! The second one was preceded by an orange warning light, which the book says is a warning that the bulb has about 20 hours left on it.
To replace the bulb, UNPLUG THE TV, remove the left speaker screen, with a philips screw driver unscrew the bulb, pull it out by the handle, then replace it with the same type, in reverse order. This is a very easy replacement that does NOT need to be done by a service technician to complete.
just might be the bulb. Have you unpluged you set make sure its cooled down and remove the buld examine the bulb ussally when the bulbs go bad they shatter not always but it good to check them out as the first step
OTHERWISE- THIS SET MAY HAVE THE DREADED 1500UF POWER CAPACITOR ISSUE WHICH ARE EASY TO SEE IF YOU CAN ACCESS THE MAIN POWER PC AND VISUALLY CHECK FOR 'POPPED' CAPACITORS ON THAT PC. JOE TV
