Sometimes corrupt registry makes problem while installing drivers. So you need to have a registry cleaner remove corrupt registry entries, use Registry cleaner Reginout.

Based on the information you have provided it seems that the issue might be due to the Audio Driver, which might be un-installed or corrupted.
However, re-installing the Audio Driver should resolve the issue.

Please restart the Computer after installing the Driver.

If you opened My Computer and double clicked the webcam icon at the bottom of the window - and nothing happened....

Make sure you get the same one as shown in My computer, (Namuga or D-Max)
There are two for the Namuga - either WinXP or Win7 but only a WinXP version for the D-Ma

you will first need to see if the unit is "backwards" compatibile, check the suppliers site.

If so download and run the software from Mirco Soft.

If the does not work, you will have to format and load XP.

Just note, it is very important to confirm compatibility first, other wise you might crash the unit

When you try installing the sound driver what does it say???
You might have the wrong version of a sound driver. Drivers are usually made for particular platforms, for example [for intel processors and chipsets or AMD processors] the two are not swappeable, thus even if it says the driver is for the particular laptop, you might have a wrong processor...
Another option would be to try and install the driver using device manager just in case what you have are a series of non-executable files [which is seldom the case]
