I have recently downgraded an Acer Aspire 5315 from vista to xp. I've downloaded the drivers and got everything working except the speakers and touch pad? What can i do?

if the speakers and touch pad were working under Vista then the devices are OK and the audio and touch pad driver which you install may not be the correct XP versions.
Check the Device manager to see if these devices are working and enabled. If not try and upgrade and or download the XP drivers for these devices.

Cannot launch Windows Vista Home Premium

Do you have windows vista instalation cd? if yes:

If not restart computer, after bios screen keep pressing f8 and select repair windows from the menu.

You can get the drivers from the link below.Although it shows as Vista, it is also compatible with XP. Give it a try and let me know if it works

IT says Vista, but look at the filenames, it says vista and XP on drivers that work with both.

all you need then is windows xp installation cd.

No sound in aspire 5315

- I guess you downgraded your system to windows xp, If that the case you have to check if the system has an internal modem .If so, please download the driver for that PCI modem.

- I have already checked the modem that was already install on your system(V.92 56Kbps* data/fax modem,)
- You have to download the windows xp driver for this modem. or download chipset driver for windows xp

ACER Aspire 5315

Here is the best I found !!!!!!

This is what I used for my 5315-2848 as well as my ladies which is also a 5315 only an earlier model.

Dial Modem was the only trouble and the program "Driver Scanner" got that working.

They will charge you Rs 300 approx

You can download all of them they will not install if the driver is not the right one. After download run it, the software will look for the device if it can not find it it will notify you stating "The device can not be found" if it is the correct one it will complete the installation.

Has to do with the HD audio architecture.....Go to microsoft's support site and type above....It is a kb article..download the patch and you will have sound...

P.S. Agere is the one modem drive u want...
