A standard Bluetooth usb will work as long as the dongle is the same version or newer than the speaker. You could also upgrade your WiFi module to one that has integrated Bluetooth. If you are having issues beyond that it might be a problem with the operating system. win vista, 7 and 8 will do it automatically, win XP will need a 3rd party App.

Bluetooth 2.1 USB nano dongle no driver

Click here to download the driver.
Now install it on your windows 2000.

Note: Windows xp will automatically recognize your dongle without external driver. I personally recommend you to use xp

How do I enable bluetooth connection on my machine

I have the same machine, and was also looking for a bluetooth device and found that there is not one. I assume that you are running windows vista and have been confused, as I was, by the generic bluetooth driver. This is a standard driver with vista, in case you plug in a bluetooth dongle. I, personally got fed up with vista and installed xp home and found a much more usable system and much more free HDD space.

Hi,

I looks like Acer designed this Notebook for Windows Vista only.

Have you wiped Vista and installed XP instead? If so is there a particular reason, like an old piece of software not working with Vista?

I would be inclined to put Vista back on it. Vista is much better and safer than XP once you get used to it, Especially on a laptop.

If you really want to keep XP, try looking for an older Acer notebook with the same bluetooth adaptor that came with XP installed and see if the driver works from that, its a long shot though.

It is possible that the adaptor is not compatible with your version of windows vista, despite what the system requirements for the device say.

Below is a link where you can download the latest driver for your bluetooth adaptor. Support XP sp1, sp2, and vista. Try this driver
