If the internal firmware get corrupted you will get the 'no power' response, however you can still download firmware as per instructions.

My unit wouldn't download with XP, but suceeded with Win2000.

Lost two files in root directory on Samsung YP-MT6 MP3 Player

I would advise reffering to the Samsung website and reinstalling the firmware on the unit. This should install the files you deleted.

Samsung YP-T6 MP3 player keeps turning off when system loads 100%

I have had the same problem several times. Each time I needed to flash the firmware. Go to Samsung.com support > download center > type in the model number (yp-mt6) click on firmware, and download the version that corresponds with your device. install the firmware updater on your computer, plug in your device. and flash the firmware. (this will erase ALL songs and settings so you will want to back those up first). After that its like brand new. Kepe the updater handy, I fixed this the first time, and it kept reoccuring every few months.

Say it is charging but it's not

You may acually have a bad battery. I'de suggest a new battery first, if it says it's charging. The other problem could be a open connection from the battery to the power supply on the board but I'de take a close look at the battery first. Good Luck

Battery life cut down to 7 hours

The thing is, you recharge it too much. Because when you recharge it even though it still has battery power left, it tries to recharge it as much as if the battery was depleted. So, your battery overheats, therefore allowing you 7 hours instead of 20. And yes, it is possible to switch the battery.

Samsung yp-mt6 1 GB mp3 player

For the latest firmware go here: http://www.cczclan.com/yp-55download.asp For the older firmware and software from Samsung go here: http://www.cczclan.com/yp-55download.asp You can easily find a universal 5-pin USB cable from online vendors or through eBay. If you need one immediately, try Radio Shack, Walmart, Best Buy, or even your local computer/electronic stores but be advised these places typically charge more.
