Turn on stereo and use a test light to see if you have power at the remote turn on wire near the amp.

i have the 1400 watt la1490 series 2 amp also and im getting the red light when i dont even got subs hooked to it also the power light hasnt even turned on yet ever.the bass boost cord thing doesnt have the power turn on that either i got 40 watt fuses in the amp cus ihad success with them instead of 30 watt in my other amps.so im taking any and all ideas of how to solve this issue,oh yea when i tried putting the 40 watt fuse in the left fuse holder on the amp it kept burning the 2 ends off half way so i had to unplug everything then put the fuses in.when i did that it didnt blow or burn them also when it burnt them it didnt blow the fuses just burnt them in half.i know its not my wiring cus i used my wiring from 2 other amps just to make certain.if anyone gots ideas or can find a diagram of the inside of this amp please post thanks

Amp is not turning on but all wires are connected properly what can be the issue

check the power wire fuse. Also, make sure your ground won't budge if you move it side to side. Make sure there is not paint there on the ground as well. last check power at the amp. use a meter and see if you getting 12 volts from the power wire and remote wire. One of them is not getting power. It's the only logical answer.

Have no power out of the trailer plug 4or 7 prong, where should i look for the trouble?

Not sure which part you mean no power.

For the New Body style 2004 ( not a Heritage or Lightning model )

If both Stop / Turn pins & the parking lamps, might want to check the ground pin to make sure it is good ( or what you are using for ground on the test light / meter ).

The trailer tow parking lamp circuit is fuse #10 to the parking lamp relay

The stop / turn circuits also have fuses on each one, Fuse #36 & Fuse # 42 ( R & L ).

The 7 pin has fuses for the battery charge pin ( hot in run position ) and the reverse circuit ( hot in run & when in reverse ), Reverse is also fuse # 10 to the trailer tow reversing lamp relay & the battery charge pin is fuse # 106 to the trailer tow battery charge relay.

Could be all the fuses are blown, or what you are using for ground on the meter / test light is not a good ground.

My power acoustic protection light stays on i got good ground and a good positive connection, no speakers or RCA's hooked up, what could it be

Are you fused close to the battery with a 30-50 amp fuse block?
Ground unit also to most closest suitable location!
Is your power wire undersized?
Check units fuses you may have blown one hooking it up!!
Good luck

JL Amp isn't powering subs and speakers

just go through ur connections man one by one ull find the prob soon.....check teminals on battery...power line to amp ....all fuses within prob area and obviously make sure u have a good ground.....really impotant.....ground is the most neglected thing people do from my experience bein a audio tech oh and if that isnt it check ur subs....stick a 9v batt on the back pos n neg of each sub n c if they pop in r out this will determine if ur subz r blown

I just installed a sony xplod 700 watt 4 channel amp and i was driving and my sound just went out, I could see that the deck was still playing and eq was still jumping but no sound, I checked the amp and...

loose connection to the power line and or ground. ground good be grounded poorly. best ground is to scratch the paint off the car frame under the carpet in the trunk and put a eyelet on the wire and screw it to the frame.also check your inline fuse on the power line from the battery if you dont have one you should. and also make sure you are using the right gauge wiring for your amp,

My amp does not work

Did you check to see if its grounded well? Try grounding the amp to the battery, also check fuses. I'm not sure how you hooked it up, but I usually connect the amps directly to the battery with a heavy duty fuse. Also try the remote wire, from your cd player to the amp. Thar are usually 2 different remote wires make shure thair hooked up right, if thats all good and the amp power light isnt on then it sounds like your amp is bad.....

My (TC4004) mtx amp wont turn on. My fuses isnt blown.I think my amp is fried. Any suggestions?. I was told by a friend that i may have to relace the the two yellow connectors that are on my amp..is this...

If your talking about the speaker connections on the amp than no,make sure the amp is grounded to the vehicle, and make sure your power and rca are connected,if so check all fuses again, your amp may have a fuse,if its not blown your amp is probably fried.

No power no sound

this may be because there is no signal going to the RMT terminal on the amplifier. try connecting a +12v line, this line tells the amp to turn on. it is normaly connected to the header unit of the car so that it will turn on the amp when the unit is powered on.

Amp will not power on.

the amp will not turn on if any of those fuses on the side of the amp is blown

make sure you have positive to battery
ground to car body (or negative on battery)
and remote wire to the back of the head unit

Amp wont power on

The only effective way to troubleshoot this is with a digital multimeter. Test for voltage on the power terminal and the remote terminal (using the ground terminal for your black probe). If you have voltage on both terminals, check the amp's built-in fuses; if they're good, then you must have a defective amp. If you have voltage on the remote terminal, but none on the power terminal, check your fuse and fuse holder at the front. It's not unusual to have a blown or defective fuse that looks okay.
