This web site has been a great help for all my Dayton heater parts. They have all the parts straight from the owners manual with prices. It shows the picture of all the parts just like the owners manual and how they all go together. Good Luck!

What did you set the air pump pressure at? This is critical on heaters with Hot Surface Technology. Setting the pump pressure is always the FIRST place to start troubleshooting on these heaters.

Here are some things that can prevent ignition even though there is fuel & glow:

  1. wrong air pump pressure
  2. the nozzle is restricted & distorted not allowing fuel to contact the glowing ignitor
  3. the nozzle is worn. It should produce a cone of fog, not a spray.
  4. there is water in the tank below the fuel.

I have a residential gas service from PG&E. What is my maximum heater size? PG&E said the maximum output is 250,000 btus. I have a 90,000 range and a 50,000 btu hot water heater. Does that mean my...

I take it we are talking gas meters here , if so meters only pass so much gas, to there size so 250,000 is the max it will pass for that size meter if you need more you can have a bigger meter fitted , but this would cost you i would think ,so yes 110,000 is what you have left in btus on that size meter

Ignition failure. Relatively new furnace - under 5 years old.

You can replace a hot surface ignitor if you are careful not to touch the silicon surface. The oil from your hand may cause the ignitor to fail. make sure to turn off electric supply before attempting. You will probably need an OEM (from a coleman dealer) ignitor.

Usually best to bring the old one with you to make sure you get the right one with the right wire terminals. Or you can wire nut a new one to the old terminals. Could also be a dirty flame sense rod.
Hope this helps.
