Camera will only sometimes power up

I have an interesting problem with my spare D1X- sometimes, the camera will power up with no problems, other times, the camera will only turn if it is smacked at the bottom of the body, near the battery contacts, and others it will not power up at all. This seems to have nothing to do with bad battery packs, as the packs all hold a charge and work fine in my other body. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm guessing it may have something to do with the battery contacts? (They appear to be clean.)

More likely a loose connection on the back side (internal) connections on the battery contacts

Problems taking pictures on nikon d1x

There may be something wrong with the camera. Make sure it is set to Single Exposure setting and not Multiples. There should be a control on the top left to change this. Look for an "S". this is what you want. If that doesnt help, you may need to get it repaired.

NIKON D1X won't take pictures

arceye 10 is right. Once the lens is attached to the camera body, make sure that the aperture ring is turned all the way up to the largest number (usually 22). To do this, hold the camera with the lens pointing away from you, and turn the aperture ring clockwise.
