F21 is too long to drain:: (more than 4 mins) Check your drain hose outflow into a couple of 5 gal buckets it should flow pretty fast. If not, there is both a suds sensor and the water level pressure switch that can be causing the problem. Since you do not have SUDS showing on your control panel I am assuming the suds sensor is fine. The water pressure switch itself can cause the problem even if you hear audible clicks when testing with an external hose. A clogged drain pump strainer can do the same thing. Lastly... the obvious... is the drain hose kinked???? Good luck and hope this helps.

What does an F21 error message mean in a Maytag 5000 series front load washer>

Hi
F21 error means that the drain time has exceeded 8 minutes; this will turn off the water valves. Press PAUSE/CANCEL two times to clear the display. If errors still remains then please check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked. Disassemble the washer by removing the back from the washer and check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure the pump is draining. Also inspect the pump filter for foreign objects. Before disassembling remember to turn off the power and disconnect the washer. If it still doesn't help then there is an issue with the pump and you'll need to replace it. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

F21 error on model mhwe300vw13 maytag 3000 it

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

F21 error is displayed when the washer is unable to drain, press PAUSE/CANCEL button twice to clear the display. After this please check the drain hose and drain pump filter for any blockages and make sure it is not clogged with foreign particles. You can also check the drain pump to verify that its working. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

We have a front loading 3000 series Maytag washer. we keep getting a f21 error message. this happened after I accidentally washed a small note book a left in a pocket of my jeans. the drain hose is...

Just had this problem on Sunday. For a FRONT loading 3000 series, remove the front bottom panel (three screws - lay on floor and you can see them). There is a plastic can to the left of the pump. The front cover to this can screws on and off. Be prepared for water to gush out and unscrew the cover to the can. There is a filter/trap in there. Clean this out and it should solve the problem. Not sure why the manual does not cover this.
