It sound like your "CTRL" key or some other function key is stuck on your keyboard. I would try another keyboard on your computer. If the problem goes away then the problem is with your keyboard.

Audio seems weak...how to increase volume

this is gotta be the largest complaint I hear from folks when they get a new flat screen , its not loud enough or the sound sounds muffled

flat screens are flat ! so theres no good way for mfg to put the speakers facing forward so sound has to hit the wall behind it first then gets directed forward to you ! (low/muffled)

sound bars help with this , but for true rich sound , id go with a video receiver amp combo , some of these even have built in dvd players , and arrange its speakers in a forward facing direction

How can I get the slash sign?

To type a slash going from the lower left to the upper right (like this / ), hit the key to the right of the full stop key on your keyboard. To type a slash going from the lower right to the upper left (like this \ ) hit the key to the left of the z key on your keyboard.

The kind of slashes used in web addresses are forward slashes, that is going from lower left to upper right e.g. http://www.fixya.com/

How do you turn on the volume? Thank You.

1. Press the Fn key and while holding it down, press the F8 key momentarily to toggle muting of the speaker. An icon of the speaker appears at the bottom middle of the screen showing muting on or off.
2. After making sure the muting is off (no slash symbol on the speaker icon), press and hold Fn again.
3. With Fn pressed, press the key with the upward triangle and speaker symbol to increase volume which is shown at the bottom middle of the screen by the green lettering & vertical bars Volume ''''''''''''

I cannot figure out how to get the forward slash key

The forward slash key is next to the right shift key and works by hitting the key. A shift key will give you a "?" mark.

My volume or sound is not working.i cant hear any sound from my music.

Make sure the speaker icon in the bottom left window is not showing a red slash across it. This means it could be muted. RIght click on it and unselect the mute field.

Alternatively the audio driver may need to be re-installed. Go to control panel and select Sound and Audio devices. Select the update audio driver function. I don't know what brand and model of PC you are using so cannot advise which driver might be suitable.

Some keys enter the wrong characters

In Control Panel, click Regional and Language options.

Now click on the Languages tab.
Now click on the "Details" button and a new window called the Text Services and Input Languages will open.
In the section called "Installed services" are there any other keyboards installed? It should just say "Keyboard - US". If there are other ones listed and you do not want them you can remove them (they can always be added later).
