PPPoE connection is set up

1. Control Panel, double-click Network Connections. 2. Click the PPPoE connection under the Broadband group that you want to share, and then click Change settings of this connection under Network Tasks. 3. On the Advanced tab, click to select the Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection check box. 4. PPPoE connections behave in a similar way as do dial-up networking (DUN) connections, and you may want the connection to be automatically dialed when another computer on your network attempts to connect to the Internet. To do this, click to select the Establish a dial-up connection whenever a computer on my network attempts to access the Internet check box. 5. If you want to allow other network users to enable or disable the shared Internet connection, click to select the Allow other network users to control or disable the shared Internet connection check box. 6. Under Internet Connection Sharing, in Home networking connection, click the LAN (Local Area Network) connection that connects the computer that is sharing its PPPoE Internet connection to the other computers on your network.

How to set up a PPPoE service name and account

PPPoE stands for Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet, it's basically authentication for ISPs that use Usernames and Passwords to get you connected to the internet. If your ISP uses PPPoE you'll have to change the 360's settings to connect to the Xbox Live service.

Your PPPoE info should have been given to you when you signed up for your internet service(some ISPs even print the info somewhere on your hub/modem), otherwise you'll have to call them up and get the info from them. It's also important to know that if you're ISP doesn't use PPPoE you should leave these settings blank on your 360 or it won't connect.

Since you haven't connected to the live yet I'll assume you're still on the older dashboard so it should go like this:

I cannot connect to my 3Com OfficeConnect Wireless (3crwps10075-us) Print Server 3crwps10075

Check you firewalls. Sometimes you will have to allow certain mac addresses or certain ip addresses (may be less secure than the mac address), then change sharing level to full, before things begin to work.

Please post back and let me know if this helps!

Laptop running 0n win 7 wont connect to router

1. you will have to designate the laptop or allow it to connect by entering it into the 3com router.
2. try connecting to the router via ethernet cord (that is connecting with a physical straight through cord) that came with the router.
If connected with this then you will have to go into the router via the IP set 192.168..0.1 depending on the router ip for loging in.
2. Go to the "wireless setup" and enter your MAC address for the laptop in the permissions list in the router. Instructions on how to do this is at the manufacturers site. Step by step.
3. Do the following step if instructions not found.
1.Log into router
2. Verify wireless router name( on the computer) >>> ( on/off)
3.Note router name you are connecting to.
4.. Check the laptop do ipconfig /all to see current IP adresses.
5. Set the laptop up in the router by WEP KEY or MAC address.
6.Note router name you are connecting to.
7. Move the laptop about 20ft away and try to log on to the internet.
This is for all routers to set up wirelessly.
