DeLonghi automatic espresso machine

My automatic espresso machine won't grind the beans - it makes plenty of grinding noise but then stop and turns on the red light indicating there are no coffee beans.

The problem is that the cofee beans will NOT drop into the grinder, which still works.

I removed the shut into which the ground coffeegoes. It was clogged. I cleaned it. I turned the grinder on and could see ground coffee coming out. BUT, the clogg seems to have back up onto the input side of the grinder preventing the beans from dropping into the grinder.

I see two screw on the back. However, before I attack it with a screw driver, I would like the schematic so I know how to safetly remove the plastic whole coffee bean holder so that I can clean the input side of the grinder and then reattach everything.

    Thank you!

Delonghi magnifica S is making clicking noise when grinding beans and error symbol appears when coffee should be poured. On turning off and on it no longer does the rinse cycle as well

My Delonghi Magnifica was making a ratcheting /clicking noise when it should have been grinding. No coffee grind coming to diffuser, display showed '' Add more Beans''. I used vacuum cleaner to suck up the residual beans from the hopper and used wooden skewer to poke out any beans at top of the grinder. Did not solve. I then removed the protective hood over the inlet to grinder and used vacuum cleaner to remove all grind. With inspection light I could see a foreign object stuck in the grind. It was stuck fast. Using pointed noise pliers I was able to rotate the inner grinder in the reverse direction which released the object upwards and then gripped by PN pliers. Turned out it was a piece of plastic from the bean hopper lid which had broken off near to the front hinge. All working again and we're getting our fix nia.... AM McCooey

Is there a “ grind size” for coffee grounds in a de longhi expresso maker

Depending on the model. You can find the instruction manual here:

Delonghi Magnifica EAM3400 When using pre-ground coffee I get the message; Grind too fine, turn steam knob. I do, but nothing changes. I pull out the diffuser, clean out the coffee, try again with beans -...

That is the reason the old owners gave it to you . You have to change the circuit board for it and it is as expensive as a new unit plus the labour and shipping .

Grinding makes a lot of scratch noise and coffee wouldn't drip. The machine says to fill the beans but container is full.

Likely a foreign object is blocking up the grinder. Remove all beans and run at coarsest grind to try to clear it, chase it through with more beans if necessary. If this does not clear it then the top burr of the grinder assembly can be removed after disassembling the machine. Mark the grinder coarseness cogs before moving them to assist reassembly. Moderately difficult procedure.

The machine makes a very loud noise when grinding the coffee beans. * Magnifica Espresson Machine *

Even a properly operating super automatic DeLonghi espresso machine makes enough coffee grinder noise to scare your pets and wake you next door neighbors. It's LOUD, no doubt about it. Only if your grinder makes more noise than that do you have a problem.

Coffee machine Delonghi Magnifica grinding function not working

There are two reasons for this usually. Either the grinder is jammed or the grinding wheel or wheels have broken. Your machine needs to go to a repair shop to be looked at.

Hello. I have a saeco vienna superautomatic

This happens due to condensation caused by steam developed at the end of the grinding cycle. Make sure that the grinding chamber is completely cleaned and dried before using the grinder.

  1. Turn the whole bean chamber to the right until it can be lifted off the base. This will allow you to clean the grinding wheel. NOTE: Never use water or liquid for cleaning the lower grinding section of this appliance.
  2. Clean interior recesses with a soft brush (not provided).
  3. Wash the whole bean chamber and lid and the ground coffee chamber and lid in mild detergent and water. These items are only dishwasher safe on the top rack of your dishwasher. Wipe exterior with a damp cloth. Do not immerse mill in water or any other liquid or place in dishwasher. Use only non-abrasive cleaners to remove stains.
  4. After completely drying, replace whole bean chamber. Important: when replacing whole bean chamber, screw on completely before setting grinding rate. Turn chamber clockwise (as viewed from top), until it will not turn. Fill with whole coffee beans for grinding and replace lid.
  5. Replace ground coffee chamber and lid, making sure it snaps securely into place.

Coffee Grinder on the EAM3500

We just went through the same situation. We opened the top the Magnifica to get to the grinder and removed the four screws to seperate the grinding pieces. Inside we discovered two black fosilized beans/stones! We removed those, cleaned out all the bean dust and it is working like new! Took about an hour.
