    Hello eagle338

This is the problem I am having and I hope you can help me. I sent the following to Fixya

I have installed MS Office pro 2007 with Business contact manager on my computer after uninstalling an older version of office pro 2002. The 2007 office suite installed ok but when I start the install for disk 2 containing business contact manager I am receiving the following error.

(Setup failed to install the required component Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express (MSSMLBIZ). Business contact Manager for Outlook 2007 cannot continue. See C:\Program File\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Setup Bootstrap\Log\Summary.txt for more detail)

I am running XP with enough memory and hard drive space for the install.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling office, running the win cleanup utility downloaded from Microsoft’s support site, down loading the latest version of SQL express with sp3 and attempted to install with no successes, adjusting the MSDTC tab to allow remote clients, remote admin etc… and adding a Domain file to the HKEY registry. All attempts were unsuccessful in fixing the issue.

Can anyone please offer a fix or a work around that will allow me to complete the install? This problem is becoming extremely time consuming and frustrating.

Thank and have a great night.

I receiver a reply from bahatt with the following

Uninstall from control panel the following:
    Microsoft SQL Server native client
Microsoft SQL Server Setup Support files
    Microsoft SQL Server VSS writer

Move directory C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1 to another location for possible use. Delete everything under Microsoft SQL Server in c:\Program Files

    Reinstall

    I than sent

I uninstalled all the SQL items in the programs list and ran CCleaner, the only thing that I did different was I tried to install from disk 2 of the software suite and received the same error message. Do I need to use the 2008 SQL version instead? And do I need to remove SQL and run CCleaner again before I download the 08 version of SQL?

    Thanks for your help

    Hello erone47,

The computer I’m having the problem with is a business machine and reinstalling the OS was my last resort. I was hoping to find another solution but it looks like I’m out of options if I want to use this software. I’ll be taking down the system this weekend and reinstalling the OS. If you can think of any other options I would like to hear them, If not I’ll let you know if the issue is fixed after the system refresh.

    Thanks for your help.

Hello,

Are you trying to uninstall SQL server?

Sometimes uninstalling this program can be tricky.
The best way to uninstall it is through safe mode.
Log into your computer through safe mode and uninstall the program.

If you need steps to log into safe mode, follow these steps:

Start your computer, then press F8.
A list of options will be displayed,
(some of these options will include, start windows normally, safe mod, safe mode with networking)
Select safe mode and wait for Windows to load.
It will ask you for your login, log into your administrator account, the account you use for installing your programs.
When you are in safe mode, go to your control panel and uninstall all the components of SQL server.

Let me know if you need more assistance.
Thank you for using Fixya,
Kenneth

    Hello again,

SQL server components always have installation problems and the best way to solve this problem is to refresh your system and reinstall your Office suite again.
This means you will have to reinstall Windows XP.
Installing Windows XP leads to data loss in your system partition, that means you will have to back up all your data before installation.
After installing Windows XP, you should also install service pack 3 to enable a more stable installation of Office suite.

If you dont have a Service Pack 3 installation file, below is a link where you can download and install an official Microsoft copy, from Microsoft's downloads center.

If you need guidelines of reinstalling Windows XP, let me know so i can provide you with the steps, or you can view my tip on Windows XP installation.

If this does not solve your problem, it means that your Office Suite CD2 installation CD is faulty and may need replacement.

If you need any more assistance, please let me know.
    Thank you for using Fixya,
    Kenneth.

    Hello again,

After all the options you have already tried, it seems like the only way to solve the problem is through the system refresh.
Please remember to backup all your data before you perform an OS re-installation.

    Thank you,
    Kenneth.

Hi,
Please uninstall the sollowing softwares from control panel.
1. Microsoft SQL
Server native client 2. Microsoft SQL Server Setup Support files
3. Microsoft SQL Server VSS writer

4. Then Move the directory C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1 to another location for possible use, if you need it later.

5. Then deleted everything under c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server folder and delete the folder itself. If you couldn't delete the folder, reboot your machine in safe mode and try deleting the folder contents.
6. Now reinstall the SQL server again and this time your installation should succeed. All the best
Thanks

  • Anonymous Jan 12, 2010

All the files under c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server folder will have files pertaining to SQL server and deleting this folder will not create any problem with your operating system. But you have to do this after uninstalling it in control panel. If possible, create a system restore point by clicking start -> programs -> accessories -> system tools -> system restore

    Thanks

This issue occurs because the registration for the SQL Server 2005 SQL-DMO COM library was deleted. To re-enable SQL Server Enterprise Manager and other programs that depend on SQL-DMO, register SQL-DMO. To do this, run the following command at a command prompt:
regsvr32.exe sqldmo.dll

  1. Launch Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel.
  2. Select the SQL Server 2005 instance to uninstall, and then click Remove. This will launch the SQL Server 2005 Installation Wizard.
  3. On the Component Selection page, select Remove SQL Server 2005 instance components and then click the instance name and common components to uninstall. To continue, click Next.
  4. On the Remote Login Information page, provide the password for the administrator account on all nodes of the clustered instance. To continue, click Next.
  5. On the Confirmation page, verify the selections for SQL Server components that will be removed. To continue with the uninstallation process, click Finish.

Step 1: Make sure that the Microsoft SQL Server Setup Support Files component is installed loadTOCNode(3, 'moreinformation'); In Add or Remove Programs, make sure that Microsoft SQL Server Setup Support Files appears in the list of installed programs. If Microsoft SQL Server Setup Support Files appears in the list, go to the "Step 2: Run the command to uninstall the SQL Server components" section.

If Microsoft SQL Server Setup Support Files does not appear in the list, install this component before you continue. To install this component, follow these steps:
  1. Locate the original SQL Server 2005 installation media.
  2. To install the support files, double-click the Servers\setup\sqlsupport.msi file.
Note In the "Step 5: Uninstall the Microsoft SQL Server Setup Support Files component" section, you uninstall this component. Step 2: Run the command to uninstall the SQL Server components loadTOCNode(3, 'moreinformation'); At a command prompt, run the following command: "%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Setup Bootstrap\ARPWrapper.exe /Remove"Uninstall the SQL Server components one at a time until all the SQL Server components are uninstalled.

loadTOCNode(4, 'moreinformation');  Step 3: Uninstall the support components loadTOCNode(3, 'moreinformation'); Use Add or Remove Programs to uninstall the support components in the following order:
  • MSXML 6.0 Parser
  • SQLXML4
  • Microsoft SQL Server VSS Writer
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Backward Compatibility
  • Anything else that is related to SQL Server 2005, except for the Microsoft SQL Server Native Client component and for the Microsoft SQL Server Setup Support Files component

you don't have to move the folder, you could just rename it. right click on the folder and choose rename, or click once on the folder and press F2 to rename it. this will trick the program to be not there when in reality all the files are still there.
    Hope this helps!

If you have removed it from control panel, its done. You just have to clean up any left over registry entries using CCleaner and then try installing again
http://www.ccleaner.com/download
You may also want to check out this microsoft link if it doesn;t work

I have already read that in you profile before hand. Did you try the solution I have suggested? It's already uninstalled, you just need to clean up the leftover registry entries. Then download and install Microsoft SQLserver express edition 2008 advanced(type it exactly as above in google and you will get the direct link). It should have all the stuff you need to install the office suite and business contact manager. I'm posting from my phone right now due to a peer outage, so if you could not figure it out let me know and I will post a much more detailed solution as soon as the power is back.

Check to see if there are any SQL services running? How to check? Simple launch the SQL server 2008 setup and it will automatically check and let you know if there are any previous instances of SQL server running. If they are then yes you will have to remove them. Otherwise you can just continue with the 2008 installation and once its done try installing the office suite once again.

Boot from the CD and re-install the OS, you will not loose any files as vista will only remove the OS. YOur documents and stuff will be moved to a folder windows.old. So do this and try re-installing Office 2007. This is the quickest and easiest way to get rid of this SQL problem and there is a good chance that this will resolve the issue.

Please accept this solution if it resolves the issue, or let me know if you need more help,
    Sai.

  • Anonymous Jan 12, 2010

Not that what I meant by booting is, insert the CD and reboot the system, and start the installation before windows starts, not from windows.

  • Anonymous Jan 12, 2010

If you are running XP the process is slightly different. Why? Because XP delets all your user accounts and documents. SO make sure you back up all the data in all user accounts including the files on your desktop before you proceed. Once its done follow these steps, as the overwriting OS procedure is a little confusing.
    So here's the plan:
1)Once you boot from the CD choose to install XP in the same drives as your previous windows installation, usually C drive.
2)Windows will warn you that there is already another OS on the drive and installing another OS will cause problems bla bla bla. Continue anyways.
3)When it asks you whether you want to format, choose "leave the file system intact. No changes"
4)At one point XP will ask you if you want to delete your existing operating system files . Press L and it will delete all your previous windows installation files and the rest of the procedure is just following on-screen instructions.

    Good luck,
    Sai.

How to uninstalled the expired AVAST antivirus from my PC?

Normal UninstallThe first thing you want to try is to locate Avast in the Add/Remove Control Panel and try to remove it from there. Follow these instructions to accomplish this.

1) Click on Start, Control Panel
2) Open Add/Remove Programs
3) Find Avast in the Programs list and highlight it
4) Click Remove and follow the prompts to uninstall Avast
Using the Avast Uninstall UtilityIf for some reason the normal uninstall does not work, you may have to download Avast's own Uninstall Utility.

1) Click on the following link and download the Avast Uninstall Utility to your desktop

http://files.avast.com/files/eng/aswclear.exe

2) Double-click on the file ASWCLEAR and run it
3) You should see the following screen

avastuninstall.jpg

4) Click on the ellipsis and choose the folder where Avast is installed. This folder is usually in the Program Files directory. Ex. C:\Program Files\Avast

Be very careful which folder you choose since whatever folder is chosen will be completely deleted from your computer.

5) Once the uninstall has completed, reboot your computer. You may then try to reinstall it or another antivirus.

If for some reason the uninstall utility does not remove it, you may have to reinstall a newer version of Avast to then proceed to uninstall or you may have an issue where multiple antivirus programs are showing in the Windows Security Center.

Hope this help!

SQLDUMPER keeps popping up when I start my computer

See if you have an entry for SQL Server (or SQL-anything) in Add/Remove
Programs. If yes, then uninstall it. If no, then the uninstall of MS
Accounting left an entry in Startup that wasn't removed when you
uninstalled the program. In that case:

Start>Run>msconfig [enter]

This brings up the System Configuration Utility. Look on the Startup tab
and find the probable culprit. Uncheck the box next to its name, Apply
and OK out. You don't need to restart immediately, but the next time you
do you'll get a dialog saying you've used the Utility. Just tick the box
that says in effect, "don't bother me about this again".

Important - Do not use the System Configuration Utility to stop
processes. Instead, use Start>Run>services.msc [enter]

hope this helps
