The thermal fuse on the heating element may be bad. It is the one that the orange wire goes to in bottom back left of dryer.

Check your heating element in the back of the unit for breaks, if there is not heat that is your problem. the other issue can be a fuse that blew not letting power get to the heating element but the easiest and cheapest thing to look at first is the heating element

CLOTHES WONT DRY. IT GETS REALLY HOT INSIDE. THEY SEEM WETTER AFTER IT RUNS FOR AWHILE. TAKES PROLLY 3 HRS TO DRY.

Hi,

If your dryer is not drying like it once did or if you just have nottaken the time to give yourself a clean dryer in a long time then youneed to do that. At least once a year the dryer cleaning should takeplace. Lint build up in the dryer duct is one of the main causesfor your dryer to fail.

Amana dryer does not heat sufficiently

The problem is the dryer coils are failing. They tend to fail as they heat up. They are inexpensive and easy to replace. Here is a link that should help http://appliancehelponline.com/gdryertroublevideo.html

Our Amana ALG 331 RAC (bought 9/2001), super capacity plus 7.1 cubic foot dryer is no longer heating up to dry clothes. Every once in a while, the dryer does get warm, but usually not. What should we be...

Temperature selector switch on control panel may have bad contacts---
Temp sensor,in the temp control circuit---
Failure of the timer on the control panel---

Check that these components are working properly, if you are handy with a multi-tester you can track down the failing component.

Good Luck !

Amana Gas CLothes Dryer Mod#NDG7800AWW dryer will heat and does dry some but when it moves to the less dry the dial does not move and the dryer does not heat

if your clothes are damp because you say it does dry some what then it sounds like it could be the gas coils, the coils will work for awhile but then they fail and the timer will not move if there is no heat on the more or less

Does not dry clothes

If its not heating up correctly you could have a bad thermostat, blocked up vent or dirty lint screen, or possible the coils that go near the ignitor need replacing.

Dryer no longer has heat to dry clothes

The element gets brittle and breaks. The element is in the rear of the dryer under the dustcover.
