Check on the display to see if you haven't accidentally set it to macro or manual focus mode. Macro mode is a small flower shaped icon and manual focus is shown as an MF symbol on the display.
As with most electronics the only possible fix is to remove the battery and keep it in a warm environment for a good while to let the electrics dry out.
Sadly though the damage is usually done and condensation on the optics probably is not a good thing for taking clear pics.
I would likely say you will need to replace the camera sadly :(
Is the battery powerfull enough? Meaning has enough DC current in it to powerup? There are 2 "ON" buttons one at which the lens comes out, the second to view pictures.
Hi, You have an defective lensunit it must be replaced by your Canon repaircenter.
If yo can do it by yourself to repair Rotronica in the Netherlands will sell you a new zoomunit.
Try pressing "DISP." which is the small button on the bottom left under the thumb-wheel. That turns on or off the LCD in shooting mode. In Playback mode, it shows shooting information etc.
I have a canon Ixus 960 IS and it will not turn on. I have charged the battery, but it still does nothing. I haven't dropped it and it hasn't been wet. Thankyou for your help
